Jimmy McKinney (Vashon):
From a local perspective McKinney is a known talent, however, from a national perspective he likely isn’t. This is soon to change. He’s a polished scorer who should be one of the best pure bucket getters in the 15u EYBL division. He started to play more and more as Vashon progressed in the playoffs, a sign of things to come. A three-level player who has an advanced frame. His strength + shooting are matched by few in 2027.
Will Powers Will Powers 6'2" | SG Westminster | 2027 State MO (Westminster):
Powers is a high level scorer and shooter. He was incredible during his freshman campaign at Westminster. He averaged 10.7 PPG and shot better than 40% from beyond the arc. His scoring touch and prowess will translate to grassroots play. An assertive player overall. This freshman is also a smooth athlete in the open floor with a high ceiling. Look for him to have a big summer with Gateway Basketball Club.
Deyton Lucas Deyton Lucas 6'7" | PF Lutheran South | 2027 State MO (Lutheran South):
Being a 6’7 forward as a freshman is always going to catch eyes. Lucas had a strong second half of the season for Lutheran South. He rebounds out of his area, can make the pick & pop shot, and showcases the agility needed to continue progressing. He checks a bunch of boxes and will have the opportunity to play. A player who does a lot of the little things needed to win. Tons of upside here.
Zihong Fan Zihong Fan 6'5" | PF Chaminade | 2027 State MO (Chaminade):
Fan didn’t get to play much for Chaminade this season. He was primarily a JV player and found spot minutes at the varsity level. He’s a smooth 6’6 lefty who can shoot and drive better than most in this class. A high potential player who will surely insert himself into the lineup at Chaminade as he becomes an upperclassman. This is one of the few international prospects in the state.
Brennen Maloy (Bunker):
A floor general who emerged onto the scene after a portion of the season. Simply a skilled player that knows how to impact a game. Scoring, passing, being a gritty player… Maloy does what it takes. He’s at Bunker, a Class 1 school, so grassroots play will offer him an opportunity to get his name on the radar more. He’s shaping up to be one of the best small school prospects in this entire class. Skills pay the bills.
