The WIAA sectional finals mark an important milestone for contending teams in Wisconsin. The top squads compete as the state’s premier talent gets an opportunity to display their talents on the grandest stage.
Prep Hoops Wisconsin recaps sectional weekend by taking a look at some of the top prospect standouts:
Bennett Basich Bennett Basich 6'3" | SG Arrowhead | 2024 State WI — SG — Arrowhead
In a huge matchup against DePere, Basich refused to let his team lose. The Arrowhead shooting guard tallied an incredible 43 points on 13-24 shooting to lead his squad to the win. Basich did it all. He scored from the outside, slashed to the cup, and converted on 11 out of his 12 free throw attempts. With Basich playing at this level, Arrowhead is going to be very difficult to beat in Madsion.
Davion Hannah Davion Hannah 6'5" | SF Nicolet | 2025 State #33 Nation WI — SF — Nicolet
Hannah has had an incredible season for Nicolet. The small forward has solidified himself as an elite prospect in the state. Now, after a 19 point, 11 rebound, and four assists performance, Hannah will look to lead the Knights to a championship. Hannah was incredible in the sectional final. I love his activity on both ends of the court and his willingness to play great defense.
Logan Rindfleisch Logan Rindfleisch 6'5" | SF Wisconsin Lutheran | 2024 State WI — SF — Wisconsin Lutheran
Wisconsin Lutheran has gotten significant contributions from Rindfleisch all season. Saturday marked a new high for the small forward. He scored 24 points on an incredibly efficient 10-12 shooting, including two made threes. Kon Knueppel is Lutheran’s clear first option and a great talent. If Rindfleisch is playing at this level, WL is going to be very tough to knock off.
Amari McCottry Amari McCottry 6'5" | SF St. Thomas More | 2024 State #304 Nation WI — SF — Saint Thomas More
I absolutely love how McCottry plays on the offensive end. The Saint Thomas More small forward is a true weapon in transition, as he is able to use his long strides and length to convert on difficult layups. McCottry had an awesome game on Saturday in a win. He recorded a triple-double with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and ten assists.
Nolan Minessale Nolan Minessale 6'5" | SF Marquette | 2024 State WI — SF — Marquette University
Minessale is one of the most exciting players in the state to watch. The Marquette small forward is an explosive athlete who can play above the rim. As a slasher, Minessale is truly dangerous and difficult to stop. In Marquette’s sectional final win, the small forward dished out seven assists and scored 17 points.
T.J Lamb — G — Almond-Bancroft
Lamb has had a really great high school career for Almond-Bancroft. The guard now has an opportunity to lead his team to a state championship after scoring 17 points in a sectional final victory. He shot 58 percent from the floor and hit two threes in his clutch performance.
Brady Corso Brady Corso 6'2" | SG Neenah | 2024 State WI — SG — Neenah
Madison has been a familiar location for the Neenah Rockets in March. Thanks to Corso’s performance on Saturday, his squad will once again head to the Kohl Center with hopes of winning a state title. In a win over Marshfield, Corso hit three triples and scored 24 points to lead Neenah to another pivotal March win.
