Collette is a guy who deserves defensive attention at all times, mainly because of his three-point prowess. Scored 27 points (9/16 FG) (7-14 3FG) to go to the SoDak 16. Dakota Valley is off to state, and I believe Collette is a crucial factor in the state tournament.
Hanson just posted 15 points and 14 rebounds to clinch a state appearance. 20-point 10-rebound double-double the game prior.
Highlights
Schroedermeier has been getting the job done in the last two games scoring 22 then 26 points to beat Faith for a berth in the state tournament. I think he can be a college player if he desires. Would like for him to strengthen his ball-handling and open up his offense some more by creating his own jumper.
Bruns’ scoring has cooled off some from being blistering hot earlier in the season, but he’s still averaging 19 ppg. and shooting 38% from three according to MAXPREPS. Stepped up in the 4th quarter vs Tea Area and finished with 19 points in the game. 20 points 11 rebounds to advance to state tournament.
Faith’s career leading scorer. 33 points in his final game vs Viborg-Hurley.
18 points in the win over Dell Rapids St. Mary. Got to like Mitchell playing well down the stretch. Gregory is a tough team if Mitchell and company are hitting shots and being aggressive.
Klundt had a 17-point game and followed that up with a 23-point game to go to state.
Highlights
Ryder is a prospect I hadn’t seen prior to watching the Leola/Frederick Area vs Potter County matchup. He impressed me in this game. He’s an explosive guard that can handle the ball at speed and can explode off the drive. Plays extremely fast, overall.
25 points to advance vs Bridgewater-Emery to advance to the SoDak 16. Just scored an offer from Dakota State University.
20 points in the Region 4A win vs Canton. He really came on this year and showed to be a capable overall prospect. Has some length to him at the point guard spot.
17 points and 10 rebounds in the win vs Aberdeen Roncalli. 20 points versus Dell Rapids to go to state. Johnson playing well makes Groton Area very scary for anyone.
Wanted to give it a mention that Johnson was putting up some impressive numbers down the stretch, and he put up a huge game scoring the ball, with a school record 48-point game.
Ruesink brought an enormous amount of effort and energy in the Baltic game. He was literally all over the place, with offensive rebound after offensive rebound. He’s only 5’10” but he can jump out of the gym and he goes up with a purpose. Makes steals and gets his hands on the ball with quick hands and reaction time. Once he possesses the ball he’s looking up court to pass or attack the defense on his own in transition. Plays with a relentless speed with superb conditioning. He does a lot for the Dell Rapids Quarriers.
Artz is a long 6’9 kid that I believe has some upside. He’s shown flashes, that’s for sure. Can play a little everywhere on the court, offensively. And can protect the paint and be a shot-blocker, defensively. I also really like seeing him committing to his game this offseason with SD Identity .
