Taylor was one of the fastest players in the gym on Saturday, a lightning-quick guard with the ball in his hands who changes directions without losing any speed. He handles the ball extremely well, has really good court vision and passing skills, and is able to absorb contact and finish through it around the rim.
PG Johnny Adams Johnny Adams 6'0" | PG Riceville | 2025 IA (Riceville)
Adams had a nice showing throughout the afternoon on Saturday, showing the ability to take defenders off the dribble going in either direction. He has a good mid-range game and gets the ball into his shooting pocket quickly off the dribble. He also showed the ability to run the team and find open teammates, showing good court vision and passing instincts.
PG William Bielefeld William Bielefeld 5'7" | PG Osage | 2025 IA (Osage)
Bielefeld is small, listed at 5-5, but he’s quick with the ball in his hands and is constantly looking to use his speed and court vision to push the tempo, whether that’s by going end-to-end on his own, or looking to hit a teammate with a push-ahead pass. He moves his feet well on the defensive end and has quick hands.
SF Payton Policky Payton Policky 6'3" | SF ACGC | 2025 State IA (ACGC)
A physical 6-3 wing who can get to the rim off the dribble and control the glass on both ends of the floor, Policky showed more confidence in his ball-handling, looking to create off the bounce a little more than when I’ve seen him previously. He has soft touch around the rim and is a tenacious rebounder who plays with a ton of energy.
SG Noah Kading Noah Kading 6'3" | SG ACGC | 2025 State IA (ACGC)
A versatile 6-3 guard who can do a little bit of everything on the floor, Kading had a solid day on both ends of the court. He can create off the dribble and get his teammates involved, knock down open shots from 3, defend a few different positions, and like his teammate Policky, he’s an active participant on the glass on both ends. He has a good feel for the game and great body control around the rim.
SG Brysen Kolar Brysen Kolar 6'1" | CG OABCIG | 2025 State IA (OABCIG)
Kolar first stood out during the 3-on-3 play, moving well without the ball in showing a pure stroke off the catch, and then he played really well in the 5-on-5 setting as well. He uses his shot well to open up the rest of his game, attacking hard closeouts and getting to the rim, where he can finish with either hand or find open teammates. He understands the game and positions himself well on the defensive end.
SF Sir Harris Sir Harris 6'2" | SF Hempstead | 2025 State IA (Hempstead)
A powerful, athletic 6-2 wing, Harris uses his frame well, bullying his way to the rim for finishes. He can elevate above opposing players to pull down rebounds or finish at the bucket, and he’s a good ball-handler with solid footwork that he uses to finish around defenders at the rim.
SG Brandon Mathern Brandon Mathern 5'11" | PG Gladbrook Reinbeck | 2025 State IA (Gladbrook-Reinbeck)
A 5-11 guard who can play with or without the ball in his hands, Mathern showcased a picturesque stroke from the 3-point line, shooting it well off the dribble and the catch. He’s a quick, active defender who moves his feet well and he has quick hands.
SF Cailen Shadrick Cailen Shadrick 6'2" | SF Davenport North | 2025 State IA (Davenport North)
The 6-3 wing always shines in this setting, and this was no exception. He has a really good feel for the game and is a highly skilled passer with fantastic court vision. He loves to get his teammates involved and is a really good teammate who is constantly talking and encouraging his teammates on both ends of the floor. He’s also able to use his physicality to bully his way to the rim for finishes, and he has a solid mid-range game.
SF Riley Perkins Riley Perkins 6'3" | SF Fairfield | 2025 State IA (Fairfield)
A 6-2 wing who showed the ability to score from all three levels, Perkins had particularly strong showings in 3-on-3 and 5-on-5. He moves well without the ball in his hands and has a quick release off the catch, and he pairs his shooting with a nice floater game that he uses to score over bigger defenders in the paint when he’s attacking off the dribble.
SF Cal Peterman Cal Peterman 6'2" | PG Bedford | 2025 State IA (Bedford)
Peterman is a tough, physical wing who uses his strong 6-2 frame to compete on both ends of the floor. He’s a good finisher around the rim and is a really good rebounder on both ends of the floor who attacks the glass, high-pointing the ball, and he’s a good enough ball-handler to lead the break after pulling down a board.
CG Kelan Koval Kelan Koval 6'0" | PG Manson Northwest Webster | 2025 State IA (Manson-Northwest Webster)
Koval is a big, physical combo guard who can play with or without the ball in his hands. He has huge calves and is an explosive leaper who can elevate above opposing players to snatch rebounds, and he’s a good ball-handler and playmaker who looks to push the tempo after pulling down a defensive board. He has good body control around the rim and finishes well with either hand, and he has a strong mid-range game.
