It featured teams from Texas, New Mexico, Kansas City, Oklahoma, and possibly other places, too. Day 1 featured a lot of great talent, with Day 2 not lacking in talent or entertainment either. With this event, we were able to see some of the top players that will take high schools by storm. Now it is time to break down the talent for the 12U and 13U ages. This is part two, so do not hesitate to go back and look at part one!
Jeremy Monger
Jeremy Monger
Jeremy Monger impacted the game on both ends of the court. On the offensive side, he scored several times at the rim, event finishing through contact. If there was a shot contest, it did not faze him a lot of the time. He also knocked down a couple of free throws in the game and had a couple of assists. On the defensive end, he played good perimeter defense and had two steals, with one of them leading to an assist. The last area he impacted was him rebounding. He rebounded at a good clip for his position. There were times that I was impressed by his knowledge that he plays with.
Javontae Carroll
Javontae Carroll
Javontae Carroll was an elite player for a great team. He impacted the game in a multitude of ways. He dominated the glass, grabbing one rebound after another. Some of these were offensive rebounds, where he turned one of them into second chance points His scoring impact went beyond his second chance points, as he finished multiple points in transition, with a couple of them being after he got a steal. He also made a three pointer, as well as coming away with several blocks in the game.
Boedi Mitchell
Boedi Mitchell
Boedi Mitchell was a menace on defense, coming away with one steal after another. Just in one game, I recorded four steals. One of the steals led to an assist. His on-ball defense looked elite and helped force a lot of misses. The defensive possession is not done until you rebound the ball, which is what he did. He came away with one rebound after another, which led to several fast break points or assists. Throughout the game, he also had an offensive rebound and a steal.

Devin Nelson Devin Nelson Kipp | 2030 OK
Devin Nelson Devin Nelson Kipp | 2030 OK was a dominant force on the interior as he was a monumental piece to his team’s success. They blew out both of their opponents, including in the championship game. He showed the ability to do a wide range of things on the court. He dominated the glass, grabbing one rebound after another. Several of these were offensive rebounds, which led to points for his team via finishing inside, drawing the foul, or finding an open teammate for an assist. Even when he was not grabbing offensive rebounds, he was finding ways to score inside with good backdoor cuts or positioning himself well. He flashed the ability to hit a short jumper. He made just as big of an impact on defense, where he blocked multiple shots, had a steal, and locked down the paint. It was remarkable seeing his all around impact on the game.
Sherman Anderson Sherman Anderson Memorial Jr High | 2030 OK
Sherman Anderson Sherman Anderson Memorial Jr High | 2030 OK
Sherman Anderson Sherman Anderson Memorial Jr High | 2030 OK dominated all competition that he faced. He scored at will inside, as he utilizes his height and athletic to make an impact. He would make great cuts, get in position on smaller defenders, and grab a ton of rebounds for second chance points. Not only did he score in these ways, he would come away with steals and finish in transition. On defense, he was an anchor, coming up with great shot contests and blocks. It is hard to imagine many players that can make a bigger impact on a dominant team at his age.
Liam Lingerfelt
Liam Lingerfelt
Liam Lingerfelt has great size, standing at 6’4. He showed that he knows how to utilize his height and strong frame well. This included a variation of him getting open with cuts, running in transition a couple of times, and posting up. He showed solid footwork to be able to keep the smaller defender off balance before scoring over them or around them. There was one play that he lost his defender with a post spin. Where majority of his points came from was from second chance points. He dominated the glass and went to the bank with how many times he cashed in. There were a couple of times that he grabbed a rebound, offensive or defensive, and found his open teammate for an assist. His domination with his rebounding was on both sides of the ball. On defense, he was not a liability, but rather was far from it. He came away with a couple of blocks in the game, but forced way more misses with his big wing span and size. It was everything that you could have asked for by him, as all of this was in the championship game.
Ajay Taylor
Ajay Taylor
Ajay Taylor made an impact on both ends of the court. On the offensive side, he showed the ability to knock down free throws and pull-up jumpers. To go along with that, he was able to finish in transition and scored inside. On defense, he made an even bigger impact. He had a steal, blocked a three point attempt out of bounds, and came up with big plays to help change the momentum of the game. This momentum change was an important part to his team coming back in the championship game to win. Outside of grabbing a few rebounds, that is the extent of his impact. Very vital for his team.
Alonzo Cooper
Alonzo Cooper
Alonzo Cooper had a good all around game in the championship. He played great perimeter defense on one of the most dominant players at the tournament. In doing so, he came away with a steal. There was one play that he tipped the ball out of bounds. One of his biggest impacts was with his rebounding. He had at least five rebounds, if not more. On offense, he utilized a nice up and under move to score at the basket. To go along with that, he knocked down a three pointer, drove and scored at the basket, and had another play that he drove and finished through two defenders with the foul. It was a good game for him in the championship.
