Tangiora is a monster on the interior for Swansboro, as the Pirates look to make a deep run in the 3A East bracket. He had 31 points and 12 rebounds in the first round win over Union Pines, then 17 and 12 in a tight win over JH Rose. His size and work rate on both ends of the floor makes him a menace to smaller teams. Also has an elite ability to get to the free throw line, mostly because of his effort and physicality. Shot 17 free throws in their first round win.
Dobie has gotten scorching hot so far in these playoffs, dropping 39 and 41 in his first two games ahead of a run-in with Swansboro Tuesday night. The shooting guard has shown he’ll score on you from any part of the floor, whether it’s getting to the charity stripe, the rim, or pulling up from deep (9 made threes in two games). He will get them up, he will knock them down, and it’s hard to have an answer for him when he and his teammates are raining threes. He could be a big part of a deep run if they win Tuesday.
Highlights
Woodard has quickly become a key part of the rotation at East Wake and has helped guide them into a regional quarterfinal berth. He had 20 points in a win over 5th seed Southern Lee, and 16 points and 5 rebounds in their first round victory over Williams. He’s got size to operate on the interior, and looks to attack his matchup off the dribble or in the low to mid post areas.
Highlights
Leaks has gone nuclear for Piedmont to get them to the regional quarters, scoring 32 and 25 in their first two wins. He’s a machine at getting to the free throw line, totaling 23 made free throws over the two games so far. He is a volume shooter and scorer, but his team’s offense is going to rely on him creating his own shot, attacking the defense, and getting to the charity stripe. They will match up with Hickory tomorrow with a quarterfinal bid on the line.
Dawkins is hot at the right time for the Storm, as the wing totaled 30 points in the first round and 27 in the second to get to the Sweet 16. He’ll continue to make shots like he has, with a great touch in the mid-range area of the floor. Also just plays so hard, running out in transition, attacking the glass, and making impact plays on defense. He’ll look to continue to lead the three-headed monster that SG has tomorrow night.
