Playoff Central. Six-foot-4 sophomore standout Ethan Martin Ethan Martin 6'4" | SF Belle Plaine | 2026 State MN scored 21 leading Belle Plaine past GSL. Martin is scoring 19 a game for Belle Plaine and has his team one game away from state. Belle Plaine hasn’t been to state in 19 seasons (two times total). Junior guard Josh Sparby doubled his season average scoring 20 in support.
Quick note, that Tartan vs Cretin-Derham Hall section final will now be held at the high seed CDH because of an issue with the Hastings facility.
Upset City. Waseca with ten losses beating 10th ranked LCWM is an upset in seeding, record and such but these were two good teams going at it last night. Damarius Russell Damarius Russell 5'11" | PG Waseca | 2025 State MN scored 25 points and had a late And1 that was really the play that put LCWM away. Waseca moves on to play Belle Plaine for the section title.
The Big Stage. Wayzata gets home court advantage for their section title game against Hopkins. It’s two teams that have been number one in the state all season and Hopkins is the one team that has beaten Wayzata. In fact, they beat Hopkins 80-69 and in the return match-up at Wayzata, the Trojans needed a late post-up make from Jackson McAndrew Jackson McAndrew 6'10" | PF Wayzata | 2024 State #24 Nation MN to win that game. JJ Semanko JJ Semanko 6'4" | SF Hopkins | 2025 State MN went toe to toe with McAndrew in a game that many will remember when it comes to Semanko.
It’s only five games tonight so almost all eyes will be on the Royals vs Trojans as the first ticket to the state tournament will be punched. Also being played tonight will be the 4AA semi-finals and the 4A semi-finals.
Top Performers. Lester Prairie guard/wing Trevor Schauer scored 30 points absolutely dominating GFW throughout the game. Schauer is a big, skilled guard that has scored 18 a game for the Bulldogs and last night he dominated the game moving his team to the section final. LP takes on 6th ranked Mountain Lake-Comfrey (26-3) this Thursday at Minnesota State-Mankato.

Glencoe-Silver Lake lost to Belle Plaine 72-57 last night meaning future Sioux Falls guard Eli Ehrke Eli Ehrke 6'3" | SG Glencoe-Silver Lake | 2024 State MN saw things come to an end. Ehrke scored 20 points a game this season leading the GSL Panthers to a 17 win season and second place in the sub-section.
