Several dominant 6A and 5A schools fell to underrated opponents and the entire hoops scene was filled with awe. Let’s take a look at some big time hoopers who made tremendous differences for their squads, win or lose.
Cam Bryant
Cam Bryant
In PA’s second round playoff game against Richmond Foster, Cam was a dominant force in the post for the Titans. He used his size well to constantly gain position on the inside against the defense for easy buckets under the rim. Bryant was able to pick apart his matchup numerous times with dropsteps and spin moves to score the basketball, even powering through the foul on different occasions for the and-one plus the free throw. One of the most impressive parts about Cam’s game is how he spaces the floor so well on the offensive end and has the ability to time his blocks particularly well on the defensive side of the ball.

David has easily been one of the most impressive and underrated prospects this entire playoffs and this was no different in the Chargers victory over Atascocita at Channelview HS. Emelife showed that he can handle the ball against immense pressure and finish efficiently in the paint as well as pull up and knock down an occasional midrange or long bomb. The part of his game that stands out the most to me is his hustle play, always willing to put his body on the line for the loose ball and his vocal leadership on both ends helped Clear Springs make it all the way to the Houston finals. I believe that David will continue to showcase his abilities effectively and should have a chance to play college ball, where he will get a chance to prove he belongs at the next level.
Hayden Underwood
Hayden Underwood
Hayden made his mark in the Titan’s win over Richmond Foster as the most underrated player in the entire contest. He constantly showed ability to score from all three levels no matter who was guarding him and also displayed great floor awareness. He had eyes in the back of his head all game and knew where his teammates were on the court every time coming down and setting up the offense. Underwood was very unselfish with the basketball and would never hesitate to pass first and set up an open teammate. His playmaking and willingness to share the ball was what stood out to me the most.
Adam was easily one of the best role players on the floor for the Eagles in their 2nd round loss to Clear Springs. Boyd showed that he can handle the ball with calm and poise against full court pressure and constantly was able to maneuver his way around the defense to either drive and score the ball, or kick out to an open shooter for an easy assist. I have heard people buzzing all year about Boyd being one of the most underrated 2026 athletes in the Greater Houston area and it was easy to see why in this matchup, as he possesses good on court awareness at both ends. His defense was also clutch for Atascocita this game as he was matched up in several iso instances with Clear Springs top scorers and got a stop on more than one occasion. Adam has tremendous upside and will be viewed as having a super high ceiling in the years to come.
