Bryce Thompson
Bryce Thompson
Thompson had a monster performance to lead Trinity Christian to an upset overtime win vs East Jessamine. He poured in 26 points but no basket was as big as the 3pt make at the end of regulation to send it to overtime. He was clutch as they come. He was the primary ball handler for them all game and handled the pressure well. Played with great pace, never got sped up and did a good job getting to the rim, getting fouled and then making free throws. He scored in just about every way possible but he put his team on his back and secured the biggest win this year for Trinity Christian.
Carver Kramer
Carver Kramer
Kramer came up huge in overtime vs East Jessamine. He secured a couple critical rebounds, lose balls and had a few clutch baskets. They don’t win this game without his late game performance. He is the ultimate utility guy who is willing to do anything necessary to win games. Was one of the best rebounders on the floor who made toughness plays. Although it may not show on the stat sheet, they don’t win the game without him.
Jones quickness gave Trinity Christian some problems as he seemed to get to the paint whenever he wanted. He used his athleticism to break off plays and make things happen. He finished well around the rim but I really liked when he pulled up in the mid-range as it added a new element in his game that Trinity Christian had to respect. He got sped up at times, but with him only being a Junior, I see him having a huge Senior year.
Daniel is a physical driver who can play both on the wing and down low. He was a bit of a match-up nightmare to guard as he is too strong for guards, yet too quick for big men. He loved when the game got physical and grabbed some tough rebounds out of his area. Has really good touch on shots in and around the paint with defenders in his face. He is another Junior that I am looking forward to watching next season as he should have a huge Senior year.
Slone was consistent all night leading KCC and keeping them calm. Although the game got out of hand multiple times throughout the game, he helped settle everything down and get his team playing at a pace that they needed to. He made some clutch plays late with one being an and-1 that shifted the momentum of the game in Knot County Central’s favor. Coach Huff leaned heavy on Slone in this one and it paid off. Huge performance for Slone.
Jayden Huff
Jayden Huff
I love Huff’s game and he didn’t disappoint against Letcher County Central. Shots weren’t falling like they usually do for KCC but Huff kept them in it by attacking the rim, drawing fouls and ultimately getting easy shot attempts that others weren’t getting. He was elite driving to the basket from the wing and finished when he got fouled. He’s a matchup problem for teams as he is quicker and bigger than most defenders that guard him. Huge performance for the Senior forward.
Brady Boggs
Brady Boggs
Boggs is a quick shifty combo guard that has deep 3pt range and isn’t afraid to shoot it. He made an impressive pull up in transition that caught my attention. That opened the game up for him a bit as his quickness allowed him to get to the rim and score as well. As he made 3’s, it really made it easier on him overall. He also did a good job finding teammates to get them easy baskets. Overall good performance for Boggs.
Cameron Hayes
Cameron Hayes
College coaches need to immediately put Hayes on their radar as a prospect because he is going to have a great high school career. Only being a Freshman, he was composed, made shots at every level and played with an extreme level of IQ & maturity. He has great size and agility combined with skill. You don’t find that often at his age. He has great touch around the basket along with 3pt range off the catch. I can see him developing into a huge pick and pop threat down the line. Big time prospect.
Kaden Floyd
Kaden Floyd
Floyd was pretty consistent all night for the Colts. He is a savvy left hander that places at his own pace. Uses pivots and jump shots well as he looks to get defenders off their feet/off balance to score. He also does a really good job of creating angles for himself to get defenders on his hip. He has good touch around the rim. One thing he needs to develop in his young career is a consistent jump shot and shot selection. He made it harder on himself at times. Will be a very good player for them the next two years.
Trevor Ellis Trevor Ellis 6’5″ | PF Mercer County | 2025 State KY is the real deal. He dominated every aspect of the game. He controlled the paint with his size as he made it almost impossible for West Jessamine to score at the rim. If he caught the ball with deep post position it was an automatic basket. What makes him different from every other big man is his unique ability to to be just as effective on the perimeter as he is on the block. He has big time athleticism and gets great elevation on his jumper. Has deep 3pt range and also can put the ball on the floor and drive. As you can tell, I am a huge fan of Ellis’s game and needs to be on college coaches radars asap.
Highlights
Jackson Perry
Jackson Perry
Perry is the x-factor for Mercer. He had an unbelievable game knocking down three huge 3’s in the beginning of the game when it was close. When he was put in the game, everything shifted in Mercer County’s favor. He plays extremely hard, can defend 3-5 and stretches the floor. Mercer County will go as far as he can take them as this Senior is a huge part of their success.
