In the first game No. 1 seed St. Mary’s defeated No. 4 seed Clayton. In the second game No. 2 seed Vianney defeated No. 3 seed Webster Groves in a close game. Two competitive games.
Here’s a look at Saturday standouts from those semifinal games.
Eli Fauss (Clayton): Fauss is an intriguing prospect that has a funky game at 6’7. That’s a compliment. He’s tough to gauge and hard to guard because of his movements. Shows change of speed ability in the post. A player who will stretch the floor out to three. He’s coming into his own as of late. Fauss scored 30 points and was one of the standout players not just in this game but on the day.
Santana Bolden (Clayton): Bolden is a fun guard to watch compete. He’s quick as a cat and gets downhill at ease. A great player in transition where his athletic ability shines. He looked comfortable as a shooter making a handful of threes. He also has the ability to pressure the ball defensively as well. Bolden went for well over 20 points on the day and put his team in a position to win the game late. A valiant effort.
Zyree Collins Zyree Collins 6'0" | PG St. Mary's | 2025 State #338 Nation MO (St. Mary’s): Nobody puts their hero cape on like Collins each time the ball is tipped. He does a little bit of everything from scoring, assisting, and blocking shots in this game. He had a sequence where he blocked a big at the rim, got the ball, and made a three on the other end. He’s a spectacular talent that has lifted this St. Mary’s program to new heights. They have a big game vs. Vianney coming up and it’ll take his best effort to date.
Luke Walsh Luke Walsh 6'2" | SG Vianney | 2025 State #374 Nation MO (Vianney): Walsh has continued to evolve his game as the season went on. He has gone from a spot-up shooter to a legitimate three level scorer that has crafty ability in the lane. His frame has added noticeable strength and he uses this to finish tough buckets around the rim. Walsh had 25 points and was the best player on the floor. He’s playing a style of basketball that will translate to the next level.
Eddie Smajic Eddie Smajic 6'5" | SF Vianney | 2026 State MO (Vianney): Smajic had moments of high level shot making and went on small personal runs in this game. They added up to be 24 points when it was said and done. The 6’6 sophomore is a three level guy who has three point proficiency behind the arc. A true scorer. Capable of making it happen off the bounce or in the catch and shoot game. Smajic is a high level recruit that had too much talent for the Webster perimeter defense.
Symon Ghai Symon Ghai 7'3" | C Vianney | 2026 State MO (Sikeston): Ghai changed the entire game with his length. A live 7’3 defender is simply something you can’t replicate in practice. It looked like a challenge for Webster’s offense around the rim. They had to rely on perimeter shots because of the sophomore’s size. On offense, Ghai got on the rim and was a presence running the floor. He’s coming into his own as a scorer and makes this team a state contender.
Carl Whitehead (Webster Groves): Whitehead was unconscious all game long for Webster. He seemingly couldn’t miss from beyond the arc and kept the game close with his shooting. He made 8 threes on the day. This accounted for all 24 of his points. The junior guard is always somebody that makes major contributions but this was a career game. He left it all out there. One of the most impressive shooting performances St. Louis has seen this season.
