The Division I match up between SoCal powerhouse St. John Bosco and NorCal’s San Ramon Valley. It was all about size, length and speed that set SoCal apart in this contest. Bosco was the example of ball movement, pass and cut. They took home the title with a 78-62 win over SRV. These are the standouts
The top prospect in the class of 2026 was the best known player at Golden One Arena on Thursday night. He has size, length and a skill set that enables him to effect the game at a high level, not just scoring point. He’s always in the flow of the game, doing something that sets him apart, and for the good of the team. He knows when to assert himself.
He’s a confident productive combo guard. He has the shake and bake handles to freeze defenders, he’s seems to be in constant attack mode when he has the ball never stopping his dribble, using floaters, and paint jumpers. He’ll drop 3’s cutting off screens, spotting up for the catch and shoot anywhere around the perimeter. He has a quick releases, not much hesitation, mostly all in the flow of the offense. He was the games leading scorer with 20pts.
We were a bit surprised to see him listed as a 6’5 PG in the program. He not only handles and passes like a point guard, he showed off his other qualities as well. He’s long and active working the boards, and defending at a high level. He has good vision and he can go get his own buckets in different ways. He’s fun to watch. 12pts, 7A, 5R.
Thomas has been playing quality basketball over the last couple of games we watched. He was key in helping SRV win the NorCal Final to get here. Now he’s finishing what where he left off. He carried SRV early only with nice drives for buckets while dropping deep 3’s when left alone. He seems to back to his high level play.
Isaak is a well known prospect in NorCal. He’s one our rising 2025 guards who can fill the nets consistently. He started to heat up in the second half, dropping a couple open 3’s from long distance and hitting short jumpers. He had strong takes to the basket initiating contact and getting to the free throw line 6/6. He led SRV with 18pts.
Highlights
If we gave out the award for best 6th Man, Conley gets our vote. The 6’3 Junior forward makes his presence felt when he enters the game. He’ll slash, and cut, use a dribble of two, he’ll finish in traffic around the rim, if there’s an opening he’ll flush a two hander going up high off two feet. He’ll scrap for rebounds, hit the floor first for loose ball. He’s the X Factor.
The 6’5 Rugby player was up against it for 4 quarters, with the size, and length of Bosco. The EBAL CO-MVP never wavered, he battled his way to 8pts with all the contact and length just to get a shot up. He led his team with 7R, 4A. He showed his versatility, and determination in defeat, handling, passing, and battling for rebounds.
