The 6’3 guard that is built like a line backer or running back really used his strength to do whatever he could to keep Corner Canyon in a game that was getting out of reach. He used some in and outs to get into the lane he finished on both sides of the hoop on drives and he powered through physical play. With an impressive improvement in his outside game he was a player that left it all out on the floor as he had an impressive run and senior season.
Hawkins was one of the most impressive players in the tournament as he was doing it all. He willed his team when they had a hard time scoring and his athleticism and leaping ability was on display. Hawkins had a big dunk early in the game that really kept that energy flowing for his team. He hit jumpers, three’s and was attacking at a high level. He is a D1 guard at the leat at a LM level.
The future University of Harvard SG was in his bag and he was in the zone. He came out locked in and his driving and posting ability just opens up that elite shooting ability. Might be the best positional shooter in the state, especially with size. Dowdell went crazy from beyond the arc and kept Alta at bay as they tried to make a comeback.
Could have witnessed one of the most impressive performances as a smaller guard in the state tournament in awhile. The level of difficulty was just of the charts. Although his recruiting has been somewhat secretive he is D1 PG and he can shoot the thing with the best of them. Lewis has so much wiggle that no matter who you put on him he is going to find a way. He runs off screens like a Reggie Miller and he has great mechanics like a JJ Reddick. Lewis went for 30 and almost all of his attempt were beyond a 10 on the difficulty scale.
Dash is no longer in his brothers shadow, he is his own player and he just has some really good timing. He can really shoot the ball and it is at all three-levels and beyond as he hit a few beyond the college line. His shifty hanlde gets him space to get to his midrange. Reiser will be one of the better scoring PG’s coming back next year.
One of teh best game managers in the state as Jordy was on his game using that shift of gears. He was not just looking to pass but he was attacking and his constant movement really wore out the defense. Barnes hit some clutch shots and like always he was a wizard with the ball in his hands dropping dimes.
Reiser has that next level drive and although he did not get the win in the end you can see a lot of the qualities in a pG that you need at the next level. He gets in the lane, he finds shooters and he can create for himself and others. Clutch from deep and he has a really good step back and side step. Excited to see what he does at CSI.
