Gerrell Trapps had a great showing in 5v5 action, playing with good tempo and flashy passes to teammates. Trapps is a crafty playmaking lead guard who is severely under the radar at this point. At his best breaking down defenders off the dribble and directing traffic in the lane, Trapps also proved again he is more than just a driver with 4 threes in one game. In that same game, Trapps put up 24 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals. High level Jucos should be all over this one.
There is a lot to like about 6’6 Combo Forward Dion Doyle Dion Doyle 6’6″ | PF Macomb | 2024 State IL , who has a relentless motor on both ends. Doyle shined in this event, finding many hustle buckets and putting himself in the right spots to make an impact. Doyle is a great athlete who is hard to defend with his combination of motor, size and athleticism. He averaged 26 points and 6 rebounds across 2 games. Some upside here!
6’4 Wing Camron Williams Camron Williams 6’4″ | SG Peoria Heights | 2024 State IL ‘ calling card is ultimate versatility. With his positional size, frame and shooting ability he is able to wear many hats on the court and find different ways to affect the game. Williams is a well rounded athlete and has the ability to finish from inside and out. In Williams’ best performance of the day he scored 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Small college stud.
Another versatile wing Jared Jackson Jared Jackson 6’3″ | SG Peoria Richwoods | 2024 State IL had a fantastic day on the court, utilizing his freak athleticism and effortless bounce to finish over defenders and sky for rebounds. Jackson is a Swiss Army knife on the court, and is able to defend 1-4 with his combination of athleticism and giant wingspan. Jackson averaged 21 points and 5 rebounds over 2 games. A player who can contribute in any setting.
6’6 Ian Case Ian Case 6’7″ | SF Macomb | 2024 State IL showed off his big man versatility and shooting ability in the event, holding his ground down low and stepping out to the perimeter to score. Case knocked down four 3’s in one game and has a nice looking release on his shot. At his best as a pick and pop 4 man, he also has the ability defend the majority of 4’s and 5’s on the court.
DaQuan Little was his usual self on Sunday, knocking down open shots with consistency and active on both ends. Little is one of the better perimeter shooters in the state and is definitely worth a look at the next level.
Dynamic combo guard Tavie Smith Tavie Smith 6’1″ | PG Peoria Richwoods | 2024 State IL kept his defenders on skates all day with his burst off the dribble and ability to score from all levels. Smith had a well rounded performance and proved his ability to contribute on or off the ball at the guard position. Scholarship level player here!
