Houston is a sophomore guard that has been playing some good basketball as of late. He uses his unique combination of size and strength to bully defenders on attacks to the rim. He’s built like a football player. Houston reached double figures early in the 2nd half. Garrett is a smooth shot-making wing at 6’5. He’s better at attacking the rim and played with assertiveness early. He had a poster dunk that was the highlight of the night and got to the middle of the key for stop & start moves. A solid long-term prospect. Michalski showed touch on the inside at 6’10. He made a number of short shots and got to the FT line a lot. The junior big has shown development over the later part of the season. He has the tools to be one of the better center prospects in this class.
Chaminade is one game away from a Final Four.
The Red Devils are set to travel to Francis Howell at 1pm on Saturday. This is a young team built around sophomores and juniors. An appearance at Mizzou Arena would be a great sign for the moment being and future. Their core of production is set to return the following season. When you look at Class 6 this is the case for a number of programs giving next season a ton of intrigue. Oak Park also has a young core in addition to Springfield Central. We’re sure to see some of these teams in the Final Four.
