Scottsburg rolling at the right time
The Warriors of Scottsburg is building momentum as the regular season comes close to an end. Last night, Scottsburg defeated a tough Paoli team 58-42 to improve a winning streak up to five straight victories. In the big win, senior guard Kody Clancy Kody Clancy 6'4" | PG Scottsburg | 2024 State IN went off for 20 years while fellow senior forward added a nice 17 points. Senior Trey Rominger was leading scorer for the Paoli Rams with 10 points. with class 3A being kind of wide open this year, it is highly important for teams in that class to play their best basketball with Sectionals starting in less than two weeks. Scottsburg has all the talent to win Class 3A this season.
Fishers crushes Lawrence North
In what was the biggest game of the week, and maybe on the season, however turned out be just a routing by Fishers. When the final buzzer had sounded, Fishers defeated Lawrence North 90-79 behind a double-double from senior forward Keenan Garner Keenan Garner 6'6" | PF Fishers | 2024 State IN with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman guard Cooper Zachary Cooper Zachary 5'9" | PG Fishers | 2027 State IN added 18 points and senior wing Taden Metzger Taden Metzger 6'3" | SG Fishers | 2024 State IN scored 14 points. Azavier Robinson Azavier Robinson 6'1" | PG Lawrence North | 2025 State #88 Nation IN continues to be a stud for the Wildcats as he led them with 17 points. Lawrence North, who was once a favorite to win the Class 4A state championship, is just 2-3 in their last 5 games. Fishers, on the other hand, has won 4 straight since getting upset by Carmel.
Lonte Ward Jr. Lonte Ward Jr. 5'10" | PG Indianapolis Lutheran | 2025 State IN goes off
At the Class 1A level, the defending champs, Indianapolis Lutheran, got another dominating win with their 87-54 win over Covenant Christian. The big story of that game came from junior guard Lonte Ward Jr. Lonte Ward Jr. 5'10" | PG Indianapolis Lutheran | 2025 State IN going off for 30 points in the win. The super athletic 5’10” guard is one of the better prospects we have in the in-state 2025 class and is excellent off of the dribble, elevates very well at the end of his drives, and can bother opposing ball handlers with his on-ball defense. Fellow junior wing Cayden Loescher Cayden Loescher 6'3" | SG Indianapolis Lutheran | 2025 State IN also added 20 points on the night, as well. The Saints of Lutheran are riding a current 3-game winning streak and will travel to Bishop Chatard on Friday.
