Tucker Tharpe Tucker Tharpe 6'6" | PF Champlain Valley | 2024 State New E , 6’7 F – Champlain Valley Union H.S. Class of 2024
There’s no doubt about it, Tucker had his hands full against this lengthy, high-powered Rice team. Regardless, Tharpe caught rhythm and put up a nice 18-point, 11-rebound double-double. The beauty with Tucker is you know how he’s going to deliver. It’s a whole lot of interior work as a post scorer + facilitator offensively, and as a rim protector and rebounder on the other end. Steady and poised.
Owen Eaton Owen Eaton 6'2" | CG Rice Memorial | 2025 State New E , 6’2 G – Rice Memorial H.S. Class of 2025
Some are just made to put the ball in the bucket. Eaton’s 19 against CVU led all scorers and it was done in classic Owen fashion. Eaton’s sharpshooting off the catch is always lethal, and his finishes at the rim both in transition and on closeouts were on point. The athletic scorer has serious gravity, and just his presence opens up holes for other guys to attack too. Everyone on D should know where Owen is at all times.
Vinny Wagoner, 5’8 G – Colchester H.S. Class of 2024
Phew, Vinny was spraying the 3-ball! Wagoner’s 26 points came mostly off of his hot shooting from deep, finding gaps against BHS’ pressure defense for spot-up jumpers. Vinny was hitting at a good clip and choosing his spots nicely, using his quick release to get it off and attacking closeouts at times to keep BHS honest. The stroke was clicking.
Zach Davis, 6’4 W/F – Colchester H.S. Class of 2024
Davis showed his versatility in this one. Zach was getting his buckets from all over the floor and in myriad ways. He got in the post on occasion for a quick hook, had the mid-range clicking, and stepped out to 3 for a few jumpers off the catch. Moreover, Zach showed the mobility and attacked closeouts for rim finishes, finishing with 23. Smart defensively with sound rebounding, Zach was key in the CHS win over Burlington.
Pascal Munezero, 5’9 G – Burlington H.S. Class of 2027
You just have to love how Pascal plays. Munezero is relentless in his approach, constantly hounding ballhandlers, scrapping for rebounds, and hustling for loose balls. All that work often directly contributes to offense. Just look at this line, 18 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 7 steals! His open court finishing is elite with his athleticism and burst of speed, plus, he saw the floor well and distributed intuitively. A true spark plug who’s going to be a star player at BHS.
Xavier Hill, 6’3 G – Hazen Union H.S. Class of 2024
I know this is an exceptional comparison, but Xavier has this Bird-like feel to his game. The big lefty guard won’t necessarily dazzle with athleticism, but he knows just how to get to his spots and will absolutely pick apart a defense. In two games this week, Xavier put up a combined 31 points, 15 assists, and around 20 rebounds. He orchestrates, hits jumpers, cleans glass, and reads the game like a natural.
Carson Cody, 6’3 G/W – Montpelier H.S. Class of 2025
The bucket-getter was getting after it this week. Carson’s ability to fill it up at each level was on full display as he found rhythm in all his spots. He hit jumpers off the catch and off his own creation, plus, when he got in the second layer, he had the footwork and patience to find cracks and finish inside. Cody put up 19 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals in one contest and 16 in another against a good Harwood team. So solid.
Haidin Chilafoux, 5’11 G – North Country Union H.S. Class of 2025
The lead guard for NCU has been the catalyst for this team which now sits at the #3 seed in D2. Chilafoux’s versatility was on display as he put together 20 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals against a good D3 Hazen team. Haidin’s a guy who gets it going with his jumper and a bit in transition, using nice change of pace to make space and convert looks. A high-IQ who works both ends of the ball.
Tobey Bellows Tobey Bellows 6'4" | PG Harwood Union | 2024 New E , 6’2 G – Harwood Union H.S. Class of 2024
The engine that makes Harwood run, Tobey sees all sorts of coverages and still manages to put it together. Bellows’ 21 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds lifted HU over Lyndon, and he managed to tally 12 against a Montpelier team that had him dialed on the defensive end. The playmaker, the lead guard, makes it happen with his combination of shooting, slashing, and elite court vision that forces help defenders to be honest. A force offensively.
Kleo Bridge, 5’11 G – Montpelier H.S. Class of 2025
Bridge is a key role player for Montpelier but he showed this week he has some firepower himself. Kleo posted a 24-point performance against Harwood, finding his offense in the flow of the game. Bridge was making it look easy with spot-up shooting, a couple one-dribble pull-ups, and some crafty finishes inside. A savvy defender and connective presence on both ends, Bridge’s production is peaking at the right time as the playoffs are just around the corner.
