Jordan Scott Jordan Scott 6’7″ | SG South Lakes | 2025 State #130 Nation VA put on a defensive show in their 5-point win over Potomac. South Lakes is great defensively; they take many charges and make life hard for opposing teams. I think a lot of that starts with their best player in Jordan. He had a handful of huge blocks against an offensive talent-rich Potomac squad. Jordan had a great day offensively, scoring a team-high 22 points. My favorite thing about Jordan’s game is his commitment to the little things and that even though he’s so highly rated, he doesn’t need the offense to go through him to be effective. It’s a skill that will serve him well at the next level.

Brian Kennedy Brian Kennedy 5’10” | PG South Lakes | 2024 State VA is another great two-way player for South Lakes. His nonstop energy and aggressiveness as a driver were terrific all night. Brian is as good as any perimeter defender I’ve seen this year and is a hound to opposing guards. The Senior guard finished with a highly impactful 18 points.

Potomac’s best offensive player, Kenneth Guzman, was in foul trouble all game due to some questionable offensive foul calls. Guzman did well when he was on the court, but when he was forced to sit because of his fouls, Peter Mitchell Peter Mitchell 6’2″ | SG Potomac | 2024 State VA and TJ Bethea really picked up the slack. In the back half of this game, TJ was unstoppable. He put his head down and had some excellent finishes. He forced his way to the line and finished with a game-high 25 points.

I don’t want to call Loudoun Valley a Cinderella story or be dismissive of their talent, but over the past few weeks, they have surprised me with who they’ve been able to beat. One of the players that has impressed me for Valley recently is Joey Danielson Joey Danielson 6’4″ | PF Loudoun Valley | 2024 State VA . Joey is a good shooter and a crafty finisher. He has nice size and he uses it against smaller defenders. Joey had 20 in Loudoun Valley’s win over Jefferson Forest.
Albemarle was able to hand Potomac Falls their first loss of the season after a big 4th quarter. Ben has had a great season and was phenomenal down the stretch. Ben is a great shooter with serious range. He has great size and is a complete offensive player. After hitting a go-ahead shot, he also blocked Potomac Falls’s 3-pointer attempt to tie the game. He finished with 27 points and 8 rebounds.
Na’Rod Jarvis
Na’Rod Jarvis
Sophomore Forward Na’Rod Jarvis had a great game in Oscar Smith’s buzzer-beating win over West Potomac. He had a double-double, finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Na’Rod is athletic, strong, and difficult for opposing forwards to cover. He’s quicker than most bigs and stronger than smaller forwards who guard him. He has excellent touch around the rim and came up big with Oscar Smith’s season on the line.
