Continue ReadingA prospect that has been steadily building his stock over the past month. The talented PG was very good during two back to back games held at Vashon. As of late he has been a lights out shooter and displays confidence to shoot with range. He’s showcasing a quick release and confidence to hit deep shots as only a sophomore. Jordan had a team high 17 points when we were in person vs. St. Laurence and followed up this performance with 20+ points vs. a very good Vashon team.
Highlights
Stone has stood out both in person and on film this week. The strong framed guard was pivotal in the Staley win vs. University City and continued his hot streak in a major KC battle vs. Lee’s Summit West who have a formidable frontcourt. He plays much bigger than his listed height. A tough shot maker who will finish through contact and get defenders off balance with his change of speed. Stone has been remarkably consistent this season going in double figures every game except for one.
Kerr is a prominent scorer and athlete in the Kansas City area who exploded for 18 points on Tuesday and followed up this performance with 42 points the next night. He’s a tremendous open floor player who can finish above the rim and create highlights. He’s very good at slashing towards the basket and making plays with the ball in his hands. Now a senior, he’s doing whatever it takes to win and his team is lifted by these big scoring nights.
Murray is another guy who we’ve seen in person and on stream this week. He played Vashon and CBC and showed similar development in both games. The explosive sophomore has all of his athleticism back after injury. He showcases rare ability at the rim and even had a big chasedown block vs. CBC. What’s encouraging about Murray is his three point shooting. He started the game hot on Wednesday and looks very good on catch and shoot set shots. Rotation, smooth mechanics, and balance, there’s a lot of untapped potential for him as a shooter.
Wanted to highlight Herbert since he missed some time the first part of the season and it’s great to see him back on the floor. The sophomore is a fun player to watch because of his shooting, love for the game, and ability to make others around him better. He went for 23 points vs. William Chrisman and looks to be back at full form. He’s a confident three point shooter who has high confidence at all times and lives with the results.
