(Note: this is not at all a definitive list, just part of an ongoing series to highlight some New York natives who are deserving of being recruited)
Headley is finishing up his first season at St. Benedict’s after transferring in from Brooklyn Collegiate. The 6-foot-7 wing forward shoots it well from beyond the arc, absorbs contact well when finishing at the rim, and can defend at a high level when he’s locked in.
Highlights
The do-it-all wing has been fantastic for the #1 seed Kingsmen this season and figures to carry that into AAU play. He is able to play as a small ball four man or out on the wing exclusively depending on who is on the floor with him and is a threat to score on all three levels. Power five programs have been circling, but things will really take off on the recruiting front now that schools are turning more of their focus to 2025.
Another versatile wing who has begun to see things already pick up on the recruitment front, Morillo has had a very good junior campaign. The 6-foot-6 guard can put the ball on the floor and excels at attacking the defense off the dribble. He rebounds it well, can create his own shot, and keeps the ball moving.
Jeremiah Jacobs
Jeremiah Jacobs
Jacobs has had a great junior season and seems poised to keep that going into the spring. The 6-foot-7 combo forward is a versatile scorer who can get a bucket on the low block or connect from beyond the arc. He also has shown the ability to create off of a couple of dribbles and is hard to account for in pick-and-roll scenarios.
Nevion Legree
Nevion Legree
Legree has been an x-factor of sorts for Scanlan this season. A rangy 6-foot-6 swingman, Legree is a versatile defender who can get to the rim on straight line drives as well as stick corner threes. His season continues tomorrow night at Archbishop Stepinac against Archbishop Molloy, with the winner advancing to Fordham on Sunday where plenty of college coaches will be in attendance.
A rangy 6-foot-6 swingman who has benefited from his transfer to Williston, Odutayo looks to parlay a big junior season onto the AAU circuit. Playing with NE6 Revolt on the MHC circuit this Spring, he will have every opportunity to showcase an improved jumper as well as continue to find his way to the rim.
