Richland got off to a hot start, but host Risco took control in the second quarter and sprinted to a 79-69 win. It was an electric atmosphere for this game between two good teams who are also in the same district.
Here is a look at Top Five Stars from the game.
No. 1 Star: Sammy Smith Sammy Smith 6'3" | SG Risco | 2025 State MO (Risco): The 6’3 2025 wing scored a game high 20 points to lead the Tigers. He’s a very skilled and athletic performer who’s hard to step from 15 feet on in. He knocks down the mid range jumper and scores on athletic drives. He also excels in the transition game.
No. 2 Star: Eli Rodgers (Risco): The 6’0 2026 guard scored 19 points for the Tigers. He’s a smooth lefty who can elevates well in the lane for the jumper. He’s always moving and finding the open spots for easy layups.
No. 3 Star: Eric Williams (Richland): A 6’0 2025 guard who scored a team high 18 points on the evening. He was scoring in a very efficient manner. He was consistently scoring on 15 to 17 foot jumpers without taking many dribbles. He moved well to his spots, made the catch and swished home the jumper.
No. 4 Star: Owen Fortner (Risco): The 6’4 2026 forward scored 15 points on the evening. He’s a good athlete with length and good footwork in the post. He has a great up and under move in the post. He was also confident in his ball handling ability and he dribbled well in the open court.
No. 5: Tucker Hughes (Richland): A 6’3 2025 forward who was tough to handle in the low post as he scored 15 points. He is physically strong and hard to move off his spot in the post. He finished well and didn’t mind the contact inside.
