The deep field is paced by No. 3 Calhoun County, No. 6 Mitchell County and No. 8 Seminole County. The Cougars are 17-0 in the region led by [player_tooltip player_id='1861276' first='Jasiyah' last='Suber'], [player_tooltip player_id='2046358' first='Zechariah' last='Canidate'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1399285' first='Amajion' last='Figgins']. Calhoun County plays fast, presses and has a knack for winning close games. The Cougars swept Mitchell County 71-59 and 55-50. [player_tooltip player_id='2046340' first='Landen' last='Quimbley'] and Andrew Haynes are veteran guards the Eagles rely on. DJ Yarbrough and Ethan Johnson lead Seminole County, Yarbrough averaging 15.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks while Johnson tosses in 13.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks. Terrell County is sneaky at 12-13 overall but 11-7 in region play. The Greenwave have played a tough non-region schedule and have played well against Calhoun County and Mitchell County, but not quite well enough for a win losing to the Cougars 72-67 and 65-55 and Mitchell County 66-62 and 80-69. Shaheed Huckaby averages 16.1 points per night.

Class A D-I's most competitive region will be fun to watch. No. 1 Mt. Vernon enters as the one-seed followed by No. 3 Paideia, No. 5 Mt. Bethel, No. 7 St. Francis and No. 10 King's Ridge. On paper, the Mustangs should run away with the region title and state championship but they haven't been able to pull away from the field, beaten by Paideia 61-58 and having close calls with Mt. Bethel (57-54) and St. Francis (72-68). The winner of the region tournament will be considered the favorite for the state title in a classification which features only 14 teams with a winning record, four residing in Region 6.
