Now, let’s dive into a “by the numbers” look at what is to come in the best time of year in the Hoosier state.
399 – The number of teams competing across four classes in the 114th Annual IHSAA Boys Basketball State Tournament.
76 – Sectional championships won by Kokomo, the most of any team in the state of Indiana. The Wildkats will be looking to win their third straight behind Indiana Mr. Basketball front-runner Flory Bidunga Flory Bidunga 6'9" | C Kokomo | 2024 State #7 Nation IN and Indiana All-Star candidate Karson Rogers Karson Rogers 6'6" | PF Kokomo | 2024 State IN .
64 – Teams that will cut down the nets on Saturday and advance to the Regional round.
53 – The number of points Northeast Dubois scored to knock off Evansville Christian in the Sectional 64 championship game last season. The Jeeps defeated the eagles 53-51 in overtime. Indiana All-Star candidate Josiah Dunham Josiah Dunham 6'0" | PG Evansville Christian | 2024 State IN and company will likely get a rematch in the semifinals on Friday.
31 – Seasons since Seymour has won a Sectional championship. The Owls have the best record in Sectional 15 at 18-4 and get to host the tournament. However, they must face Jeffersonville in the first round and the Red Devils will have revenge on their mind after losing to Seymour 40-39 earlier in the season.

12 – The fewest number of wins of any team in Sectional 23 at Mississinewa. Every single team in this bracket is above .500 led by Bellmont (20-4) and Maconaquah (15-6).
5 – The number of teams that have at least 18 wins on the season in Sectional 37 at Bluffton. Adams Central (19-4), Blackhawk Christian (18-6), Bishop Luers (18-5), Manchester (18-4), and Whitko (18-4) are all in this field.
3 – Sectionals that feature at least three teams in the latest Prep Hoops Indiana Super Poll. #2 Fishers, #3 Noblesville, #4 Westfield, and #16 Carmel are all in the Sectional 8 field. #5 Greenfield-Central, #13 Richmond, and #19 Anderson are in the Sectional 9 bracket. #7 Lawrence North, #8 Cathedral, and #11 Crispus Attucks will compete for the Sectional 10 crown.
1 – Undefeated team remaining in the state. The Greenfield-Central Cougars are a perfect 22-0 on the season.
