POY Results: Northern Lakes Conference Player of the Year Award

Roberts took home 46.1 percent of the vote while Keith finished with 38.2 percent of the vote in the results which wrapped up this past Friday. Roberts was a big reason for the Vikings' 12-2 finish in the Northern Lakes which blends 2A/3A schools in the NCHSAA. Their only two losses in conference were to 3A Southern Durham.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Roberts finished tied for first in the conference in 3-pointers made (62) on 43 percent shooting while averaging 15.6 PPG, 4.8 APG, 4.1 RPG and 1.6 SPG. He led his team in both scoring and assists per game this season. He put up 20+ points in seven games this season for the Vikings as they took home second in the conference standings this season. He's an unsigned senior prospect for DII and DIII programs to get eyes on given his penchant for making things happen in a variety of ways.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The unsigned senior has nearly put up a triple-double a few times this year. In an early season upset of Goldsboro High, he finish with eight points, seven rebounds and 10 assists, while showing off his ability to find others in space to make things happen. He's an underrated playmaker for college programs to get to know out of the Northern Lakes. To kick off the month of December, he posted 16 points, seven assists and seven rebounds in a runaway victory over Vance County. He put up 16 points, nine assists and five rebounds in their season finale over crosstown rival Granville Central this past Friday. He's a guard with a high IQ for making things happen when he's on the hardwood.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Roberts also beat out [player_tooltip player_id='1454624' first='Camren' last='Daniels'] (Southern Durham) and Jordan Alston (Granville Central) to take home Player of the Year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
