Top 30 2025 Donald Gets Rolling Late to Lead Columbia to Win

First game of the day was a clash of Columbia and Bloomington Central Catholic. Columbia jumped out early 17-6 in the first quarter controlling the lead the entire game. Bloomington Central Catholic made a couple runs, but could never fully get back in it as Columbia won 51-37.

Columbia got out of gates quick behind sharp shooter Logan Bosch who drained a couple of threes and a layup off movement early for all 8 points he scored in the game. Their star player is junior 6'8” face up four man [player_tooltip player_id='1568153' first='Sam' last='Donald'] who has a feathery jumper from the perimeter. In the first half he scored a couple buckets creating his own shot for crisp pull ups. Then in the second half it was more of the same with pull up twos, quick post up, tough step back, and a pair of threes for 18 points and 7 rebounds. Sophomore big man Brody Landgraf is a physical post that can stretch the floor with his shooting hitting a top of the key three. Reverse layup on the baseline, seal off man for layup, and another post score for 13 points.

Bloomington Central Catholic had a low scoring game, but three prospects are worth monitoring. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1373447' first='Colin' last='Hayes'] is a Valpo football commit that plays with physicality on the interior getting put backs and hitting mid-range shots for 8 points. Slow start for their junior standout [player_tooltip player_id='2105281' first='Treyton' last='Eller'] as he made some nice moves, but couldn't buy a bucket. The plus shooter did get it going with a pair of triples and a spin move for an and-1 on his way to 14 points. [player_tooltip player_id='2455395' first='Keshaun' last='Manney'] is a 5'10” point guard that is such a smooth ball handler that is crafty as a finisher with a soft touch finishing package. Scored 7 points showing quite a bit of promise.

Rutgers Commit Sommerville Double Double Powers Richwood Victory

Peoria Richwoods came into the Panther Dome ready to play! They came out strong behind their point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2104980' first='Jared' last='Jackson'] who ripped off a run of buckets early. O'Fallon's star guard [player_tooltip player_id='1157355' first='Jaeden' last='Rush'] came right back with a strong second quarter to cut it to 27-24 at the half. Richwoods was just too deep for O'Fallon as they pulled away late to win 60-46.

It was another dominant performance for the top ranked center in the 2024 class [player_tooltip player_id='1978576' first='Lathan' last='Sommerville']. The Rutgers commit is a man among boys moving bodies with ease and when he keeps the ball high it is pretty much going through the rim. An array of seals, spins, and slams out of the dunker spot. Pounded the glass for put backs and hit his one three a game per usual from the top of the key. Best play was a rim run where he converted a euro step for an and-1. He had 24 points and 12 rebounds. [player_tooltip player_id='2104980' first='Jared' last='Jackson'] did most of his damage early getting Richwoods out of the gates with a pair of threes and a coast to coast take for an and-1. Very good defender recording several blocked shots on jumpers. Threw down a nasty alley-oop for 10 points. [player_tooltip player_id='1978599' first='Tavie' last='Smith'] only scored three points, but the senior point guard was excellent pushing the pace with his speed in the open floor, rebounding well for his position, and defending at a high level. Another senior guard is emerging for this squad in DaQuan Little. Athletic two guard that can hit from mid-range and got out in transition for 10 points.

O'Fallon was led by [player_tooltip player_id='1157355' first='Jaeden' last='Rush']. Slick handling point guard won off the bounce with smooth takes where he is slippery through traffic for running floaters and sweeping layups. Burst with the ball in his hands getting to the cup, drive and kick passing, and hit a couple threes in a 20 point outing. [player_tooltip player_id='1373443' first='Rini' last='Harris'] had a quiet game, but the McKendree commit still made some plays in the open floor including swatting a shot, going coast to coast, and finishing with a euro step. He had 8 poionts.

Froebe Scores 3,000 Point of Career

I don't cover girls basketball, but want to give a shoutout to Colorado State commit Kloe Froebe who put on a show leading top ranked Lincoln to a win over defending state champs O'Fallon in a girls matchup between the two boys games. She scored 33 points getting to the basket at will while still doing a great job at setting her teammates up. Also recorded her 3,000 career point in this one! That is just an insane number! Ranked #1 in Prep Hoops Girls Illinois rankings.
