Over the next few days we’ll highlight some of the recently committed prospects throughout the region.
Kwiecinski came off the board a few weeks back when he announced his plans to attend Colby College. The Mules are getting a big, versatile wing that has some athletic pop around the rim. Kwiecinski is capable of defending multiple positions and initiating the break off of defensive rebounds. He’s a versatile offensive threat who consistently knocks down shots from the perimeter while also being an explosive driver that can finish plays at the rim.
Edomwonyin made his college plans official when he announced his commitment to Drexel University. Still a relatively raw prospect, having just started playing basketball three years ago, Edomwonyin has physical gifts that can be matched by few in New England. He’s a strong finisher around the rim that has a large catch radius and can finish plays through contact. Defensively, he’s agile enough to switch onto quicker guards and is a plus shot blocker with his athleticism and length.

Redhead will head back to his home state of New York for college when he attends Alfred University. A floor-spacing wing, Redhead is a threat from behind the arc in catch-and-shoot situations and also does a nice job utilizing off-ball screens to get open. He has good touch in the paint and isn’t afraid to post up smaller guards on the block, where he shows good footwork to create scoring chances. He competes defensively, doing a good job of keeping the ball in front and not fouling.
Yakoobian, a high academic prospect, made his plans official when he committed to Union College. A powerful wing/forward, Yakoobian presents as a mis-match with his combination of size, skill, and strength. He’s a threat at all three levels in transition and does a good job of putting pressure on the rim as a finisher. He shows signs of being a capable playmaker utilizing good feel and vision. Defensively, he’s ultra-versatile and should have no problem guarding on the perimeter or in the paint at the next level.
