Check out five dudes who made real impacts for their teams as they head into conference and state playoff play.
McLeod announced his commitment to Navy on Senior Night last week, then followed it up with a big time game against conference rival Wake Christian. The senior poured in 27 points, 6 rebounds, and notched an assist as well in a tight victory. He’s been a key piece for all the little things he does well for his group, including rebounding the ball, knocking down shots, and just making the winning, hustle plays you need on both ends of the floor.
Dauska came up big in Latin’s huge rivalry win over Charlotte Country Day, and the freshman is looking the part as the next big thing from the school. He’s a knockdown shooter, but has become a better team defender over the course of the season, settling into his role as a help defender, guarding the ball solidly and making an occasional play. He’s someone to monitor as the grassroots season kicks into full gear as a member of CC Elite .

Parker Eatmon
Eatmon has gotten hot over the last week, as he recorded 23, 22, and 24 points in three blowout wins for RMA on the week. He made 8 threes, almost half of what he had made on the season before that, and looked like he was really comfortable out there against some competition that could not keep him checked. Not only a basketball star but also an accomplished stock car racer, Eatmon should have an opportunity to play at the next level if he can keep scoring like he did last week.
Jones continues to be a scoring threat for Grace Christian Sanford, as he had 21 points twice last week, in wins over Thales Academy Apex and Mount Zion Christian. The Crusaders are on a hot streak right now and he’s been able to contribute, worming his way into the paint and making winning plays all over the floor. His ability as a playmaker is also coming along, and seeing flashes of great talent like when he had 7 assists against TAA is a good sign for his long term development.
Gladieux continues to show why he’s a next level prospect as he had three efficient double doubles that led to his group’s three wins last week. He had 16 and 10 against fellow 1A contender New Garden Friends, then 24/10 and 17/11 against Trinity Durham Chapel Hill and Carolina Mustangs respectively. He’s an active forward prospect that has shown he can stretch the floor, hit the glass hard, and protect the rim against smaller guards trying to get to the hoop..
