Stock Risers
Brady Vetter
Brady
Vetter
6'3" | SG
Fargo Davies | 2027
State
ND
|5’11 G| Fargo Davies
One of the top 9th graders for the Eagles. Vetter is very smooth with the rock and he scores from all levels (3’s, middy’s, at the rim). Brady changes the game with his hot 3-point shooting. He is a leader on the 9th-grade team and has become increasingly vocal as the year has progressed. His ballhandling and ability to handle pressure have improved throughout the year. Brady continues to get stronger and more physical. He gets downhill and shoots well from the charity stripe. Vetter has a very bright future in the Davies program.
Wyatt Weekley Wyatt Weekley 6'2" | SG Our Redeemers | 2027 State ND |6’0 G| Our Redeemer’s
He starts for the ORCS Knights. Weekley is a PG but I could see him being an effective combo guard as well as he ages. Wyatt is long for a frosh and he shoots it well. His range extends beyond the 3-point arc. He seems to have a good feel for the game. Weekley has plenty of potential, it will be interesting to see how he develops over the spring & summer.
Talan Gregory
Talan
Gregory
6'1" | SF
Devils Lake | 2027
State
ND
|6’0 G| Devils Lake
He is doing great this year. Gregory works extremely hard every day to enhance his game. Talan is an excellent shooter and he creates well off the dribble. Gregory has looked good as a 2-guard in C-Squad & JV. In the coming months, Talan will need to improve his quickness and defense. Gregory and Heilman are exciting players to watch for the Firebirds.
Kaden Welstad Kaden Welstad 6'0" | SG Bismarck Century | 2027 State ND |5’10 G| Bismarck Century
Kaden has been a consistently solid player for the Freshman A team this year. He is a tough, physical combo guard who can play on or off the ball. He has been shooting the ball consistently and making plays for his teammates. Welstad has a very good feel on the defensive side of the ball, making him a very good two-way player. With his offensive playmaking and defensive presence, he has been a key piece to the Freshman team’s success up to this point.
Paxton Lyson Paxton Lyson 5'9" | CG Dickinson | 2027 State ND |5’9 G| Dickinson
Lyson is having a great season on the 9th-grade team and is averaging 16 points per game. Paxton has a great handle and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. He has proven himself as a serious outside shooting threat and can also get to the rim & finish. Lyson is a Midget to keep track of, his future looks promising.
Finn Dockter
Finn
Dockter
6'0" | SG
Valley City | 2027
State
ND
|5’11 G| Valley City
Finn has been a mainstay for the Hi-Liners JV this team year and mid-season was awarded a varsity jersey for his solid play. Finn is an extra-versatile guard/wing that finds the open teammate and guards at a very high level. The VC coaching staff has to be excited about this youthful Hi-Liner.
Brogan Young
Brogan
Young
6'1" | SG
Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier | 2027
State
ND
|6’0 G| EKM
Brogan has started a handful of games for the Rebels this year due to injuries/sickness and has done very well. He struggled with some turnovers (which a lot of freshman players do coming from the JH level) but he has cleaned those up nicely by adjusting/understanding the speed of the game. He is more comfortable with all that the EKM staff asks of him. Some strengths of Brogan’s: are bringing energy to the Rebels, his shooting (must be guarded or he will knock it down), rebounds very well for his size, he will guard you hard the length of the court, and his willingness to be coached!
Brody Shepherd
Brody
Shepherd
6'0" | SG
Bismarck Legacy | 2027
State
ND
|6’0 F| Bismarck Legacy
Shepherd has had a nice season so far. Brody looks to be the top frosh at Legacy. He is one of the top scorers for the Legacy sophomore team. Shepherd has shown some flashes in JV games this winter and is shooting it at a super high clip.
Beau Thorpe
Beau
Thorpe
6'0" | CG
Oakes | 2027
State
ND
|6’0 G| Oakes
He starts for the 10-9 Tornadoes. Thorpe is having a very nice season for a 9th grader. Beau plays around 24-28 minutes per game and averages 8-10 points per game. This young Tornadoe is a talented shooter who does most of his scoring damage from the three-point arc and mid-range. Beau is crafty but also goes hard and brings the juice to the hardwood.
Matthew Dick Matthew Dick 5'7" | SG Horace | 2027 State ND |5’7 G| Horace
Matthew has played Freshman A, C-Squad, JV, and even called the play-by-play for the Varsity Hawks livestream! Dick shoots it well and he can score with his craftiness in the paint. Matthew’s strong play this winter has the Horace coaching staff excited about this future Hawk!
Anthony Brackins Anthony Brackins 5'8" | CG West Fargo | 2027 State ND |5’8 G| West Fargo
AJ effectively uses a lightning-quick first step to beat his primary defender and is an efficient/effective finisher. Brackins is playing much more in control this winter, and has his Freshman A team in a position to chase the league title!
Will Heilman Will Heilman 6'0" | CG Devils Lake | 2027 State ND |6’0 G| Devils Lake
Much like Gregory, Heilman is having a great season. Will is the leader of the Firebird C-Squad and his JV playing time continues to increase. Heilman can drill the open triple, he is also good at creating his own shot. Heilman’s defense is what has picked up this season and that helped him earn JV minutes. DL is looking forward to these two stepping up as the season moves on and the Firebirds expect them to get better in the offseason.
Kaden Moore
Kaden
Moore
5'9" | PG
North Border | 2027
State
ND
|5’9 G| North Border
Moore has had a standout year for the 12-6 Eagles. Kaden is second on the team in scoring, averaging just over 15 ppg, second on the team in rebounds, 2nd in assists, 2nd in steals, and leads the team in minutes played. Moore has the lowest number of TO’s, has made 62 triples, and is shooting 89% from the FT line. Kaden has become a knockdown shooter at 43% from 3 and is averaging right around 4 made/game. The young Mr. Moore is the most well-rounded player for the Eagles. Kaden has had a rockstar frosh season and his game will only evolve as time goes on.
Ethyn Bye Ethyn Bye 6'4" | PF West Fargo | 2027 State ND |6’4 F| West Fargo
He has proven himself to be one of the top players in the FM Metro 9A league this winter. Big E has been virtually unstoppable when he gets to the right block. Ethan showcased improved athleticism this winter with strong rebounding and rim protection. The Packers have to be impressed with Bye’s potential.
Crew Rickard
Crew
Rickard
5'8" | PG
Fargo North | 2027
State
ND
|5’6 G| Fargo North
He stars as the PG for the North C-Team. Crew is a deadeye shooter and crafty scorer around the basket. He leads C-Team in scoring. What he lacks in size/strength defensively he makes up for with anticipation. Rickard is crafty with the rock and he is no stranger to making impressive plays on the court. His shooting range is extended and he can put up points in a hurry. Crew is a player to watch for the Spartans as he grows & matures. If you watch him play, you will certainly be impressed with his skills and shooting display.
