Principia had great energy and looked ready to go from the jump. The bombers decided otherwise, starting a little slow but with a quick 6-0 lead to start the game. This game had amazing energy as the Panthers fought back to end the quarter, making the score 10-12 with Principia leading. The second quarter was mostly just gritty defense and exchange buckets. Ending the half with a score of 23-26, Principia is still up. About halfway through the 3rd quarter, the Principia Panthers had a solid lead of 25-40 over the Bombers. Rounding out the 3rd and heading into the 4th, the Panthers were ahead 33-42. The Bombers did not want to give up trading baskets until the end with the Panthers finally coming out on top 51-48.
John Burroughs High School
An ELITE big man with a next-level game sense, he has great vision on offense and defense. He stands at a whopping 6’9″. I would say his best attribute is his defensive consistency, he plays defensive possessions like it’s his last bit of playtime. Pearson gets crafty with his jump shots because of that. I enjoyed watching him play and cannot wait to see where he can go from here.
A solid point guard with great vision for long passes as well as those quick passes through the traffic. He has a nice jumper that he pulls, often around the 15-foot range. Has an amazing layup package, about to finish around the rim with ease. Most of his buckets came from mid-range jumpers that fell in with ease. He led the team in scoring despite the loss.
A true center. Reed communicates, helps, sprints, and even dives on the floor. He does whatever it takes to get the win or to help his team out. He and Sheek were dominant front-court players; they barely allowed any buckets in the paint. He is ranked #1 in the state, and he carries himself very well. He finished the game with several great blocks and multiple rebounds.
Principia High School
A tall and lanky forward who has an amazing attitude. He caught some fouls quickly, but he did not complain, furthermore, he let his coach talk to the ref and let his game speak for itself. An elite defender standing at 6’7 they had him right in the middle of the paint on defense he had awesome communication with his team. His presence in the paint is enough for most passes to not even get through.

A shifty guard with a great attitude and heart for the game. You can tell he wants to go places with this sport. As well as, lockdown defense, he was guarding Ramzi, who was their best scorer. He was constantly fighting play after play keeping them in it the 2nd quarter. Can’t say how much I appreciate this kid’s love for basketball; he has this great aura around him that you can just tell he’s enjoying himself out there.
A young buck who has everything set up great for himself. He is a 6’3 freshman with a great heart for the game, I saw him diving after loose balls and fighting for jump balls even. He was always first down the court on a fast break. When Coleman wasn’t guarding the best player, he would consistently lock them down with a full-court press. Solid all-around guard to lookout for in the future.
Principia came out on top in this matchup. It was an amazing game, loaded with super-talented kids. It was an absolute nail-biter, and it even came down to the wire. In just under 4 minutes, the Bombers brought it back to 44-47. I hope to see all these kids on a college roster someday. They put on a great show, with the final score being 48-51 for the Principia Panthers.
