ONTARIO — We spent Saturday afternoon and evening inside Toyota Arena watching three boys basketball championship games in the CIF Southern Section playoffs. La Habra downed St. Bonaventure (76-45) in Division 3AA, Temecula Valley defeated Northview (53-40) in Division 4A and Sherman Oaks Notre Dame took the Division 1 crown with a 69-65 win over Windward. Below we take a closer look at the top performers from the three games.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630643' first='Angelino' last='Mark'] | 2025 | Sherman Oaks Notre Dame

Mark set the tone early that Notre Dame was just as able as playing and scoring in transition as Windward was. The 6-foot-2 guard is lightning quick in the open court and one of the fastest players in the state going end-to-end with the ball in his hands. Mark chose his push opportunities well and converted on transition baskets at a high rate en route to 16 points in the win.

Bronson Schmidt-Uili | 2024 | Sherman Oaks Notre Dame

Schmidt-Uili missed a few weeks of action due to a family matter but returned to the lineup in the championship game and made a major impact. The 6-foot-10 center finished with 11 points (5-for-5 from the field) and eight rebounds in 23 minutes of action off the bench. Schmidt-Uili's Mobility, skill and touch around the basket was often too much for an undersized Windward team to handle.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630623' first='Gavin' last='Hightower'] | 2025 | Windward

Just like Mark who is mentioned above, Hightower is one of the premier transition scorers we have in the state. The 6-foot-1 junior has elite speed and body control when attacking the rim and is one of the craftiest finishers you'll see. Hightower can manipulate the ball, use angles on the glass and absorb and finish through contact when contested around the basket. He finished with a team-high 21 points.

Jeremiah Profit | 2027 | Temecula Valley

Profit is one of the more talented freshmen in the state and had that repertoire on full display in Temecula Valley's Division 4A win over Northview. The 6-foot-4 wing is a versatile and skilled scorer whose smooth game and ease of creating his own shot is well beyond his years. Profit scored a game-high 18 points and dished out 5 assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323686' first='JJ' last='Harris'] | 2025 | Windward

Harris didn't have his best scoring night but he was still making plays all over the floor like we are accustomed to seeing from him. The rangy and bouncy 6-foot-5 wing eight points and four rebounds but it was his defensive impact and willingness to do the dirty work that helped keep Windward within striking distance.

[player_tooltip player_id='1502768' first='Mercy' last='Miller'] | 2024 | Sherman Oaks Notre Dame

Windward did all it could to keep Miller from getting clean looks on the offensive end, and even though the Wildcats forced him into a high volume shooting night, the 6-foot-3 senior still knocked down some tough shots. Miller finished with 22 points in the win with a variety of long and mid-range jumpers that were highly contested.
