Kervokian knocked down his first two attempts- both threes, early in the first quarter and forced a quick timeout. That set the tone for both he and Iona Prep, which would go on to win in convincing fashion. Kervokian was hot from the field in the first half, but also showed that he can get his teammates in the right spots and run the offense as well.
Dominic Jimenez
Dominic Jimenez
Like many CtK point guards before him, Jimenez plays with a speed and toughness that allows him to dictate the pace of the game. He has a quick first step and was able to find his way to the rim on a number of drives. He also rebounded the ball well, especially for his size, and would start the break himself.
Anthony Venzen
Anthony Venzen
Venzen took over down the stretch of the game and seemingly scored every time Christ the King would get within a possession in the fourth quarter. A 6-foot-1 guard who’s nowhere near his ceiling from both a skill and physical standpoint, Venzen has the tools and scoring ability to be one of the next high level guards to come out of the Monsignor Scanlan program.
Zaire Johnson
Zaire Johnson
St. Ray’s has another D1-caliber point guard waiting in the wings in Johnson. The cat-quick guard got to the rim at will, finishing with 18 points in the first half. He also knocked down a number of threes and got his teammates involved as the defense keyed in on him.
Kenny Moore Jr
Kenny Moore Jr
Moore fits the mold of so many Cardinal Hayes point guards before him, mixing scoring and distributing effortlessly. He had 13 in the first half against St. Ray’s and showcased a high basketball IQ and vision throughout.
Jaise Greaves
Jaise Greaves
Another lead guard who fits the program he’s at well, Greaves has the look of a D1 guard in his own right. He can create space off the dribble and looked very comfortable pulling up in the mid-range and knocking down jumpers.
Chiara is a talented guard who can either create for himself or his teammates. he plays with good pace and has range out to the three point line. He rebounds it well and often looked to push things on his own or get teammates out in space. He also showed good creation ability and vision in the half court and finished at the rim.
