The chatter on social media and around the building leading up to and on day 3 was about Caleb Holt Caleb Holt 6'5" | SG Buckhorn | 2026 State AL and seeing what type of performance he would bring to the year’s biggest stage. Many said it would be difficult to follow up with last year’s Final performances, but we found out that it wasn’t as difficult as thought. Caleb had a masterful performance after only scoring 11pts in the 1st half. He makes tough shots at multiple levels, has a knack for creating space to shoot off the dribble, and is explosive attacking the basket and finishing at the rim. He has an extremely high IQ, plays both ends of the floor, rebounds his position, and competes relentlessly while on the floor. He plays at a level higher than everyone around him and is hands down the best player in the state. He finished with the following stat line: 37pts (11-20 [0-3 3-ptr]), 7rebs, 6steals
Best Scorer: Terrel Johnson Terrel Johnson 6'2" | SG Vigor | 2024 State AL (6’2/W/’24/Vigor)
Many people may have missed the impressive performance that Terrel provided as his team took the court for the last game of the day past the original start time. So, if you did not stay or catch it via streaming, you missed a fantastic scoring assault. He is a playmaker with tremendous finishing capabilities and a quality perimeter jumper. He is a legitimate three-level scorer who is very talented, with a nice skill set and an undeniable scoring touch. He helped his team punch their ticket into the championship game, and it will be interesting to see if he can follow up his semi-final performance with one just as good or better in the championship game. He finished with the following stat line: 33pts (12-20 [3-6 3-ptr]), 8rebs
Best 3-Pt Shooter: Jackson Porch Jackson Porch 5'10" | CG Guntersville | 2024 State AL (6’0/CG/’24/Guntersville)

Jackson is a threat from behind the arc as soon as he crosses the half-court line. He must be accounted for because he does not need much time or space to get his shot off. He shot 60% from behind the arc in his squad’s semi-final match-up, and that is with a lot of attention being given to containing him. To sum it up, Jackson is a great shooter off the catch or dribble, is consistent in knocking down the three-point shot, and is one of the best in the state from behind the arc. He finished with the following stat line: 26pts (9-19 [6-10 3-ptr]), 5rebs
Best Floor General: Ty Davis Ty Davis 6'5" | SG Mountain Brook | 2024 State #191 Nation AL (6’5/PG/’24/Mountain Brook)

For years, many have looked at Ty as a three-point specialist, but over the past few years, his game has evolved tremendously from being just known as a shooter. As he prepares to take his talents to Creighton, being pushed into the lead guard spot a year or so ago has done nothing but help Ty become more valuable to the Spartans and his future as a Bluejay. He is in total command of the Spartan offense and knows how to orchestrate and create for his teammates. Everyone knows he has range and is a threat to shoot from the parking lot, but watching his ambidextrous capabilities with his accurate one-hand passing with either hand is impressive. He has excellent vision and makes tremendous reads, and he will need to bring everything in his arsenal to get his team past Buckhorn and Caleb Holt Caleb Holt 6'5" | SG Buckhorn | 2026 State AL in the championship game. He finished with the following state line: 13pts (5-15 [2-7 3-ptr]), 5rebs, 6assist
Best Rebounder: Milton Jones Milton Jones 6'4" | SG Wenonah | 2026 State AL (6’5/F | C/’26/Fairfield)

One of the keys to victory for Fairfield headed into this much-anticipated match-up was Fairfield matching the rebounding numbers with Valley. Most of this fell in the hands of Milton Jones Milton Jones 6'4" | SG Wenonah | 2026 State AL , who gave up size to Valley’s frontcourt line-up. At the end of the game, Valley only won the rebounding battle 41-36, and Milton had a lot to do with the margin being that close. He rebounded at a high rate, and when he couldn’t get his hands on the board, he did an excellent job tipping it out, giving his teammates a chance to secure the rock. Milton’s outstanding performance is a huge reason why Fairfield is playing for a state championship. He finished with the following stat line: 14pts (5-11 [0-1 3-ptr]), 12rebs
Best Shot-Blocker: Brandon Thomas Brandon Thomas 6'4" | PF Valley | 2024 State AL (6’7/F | C/’24/Valley)

Brandon is a very athletic frontcourt player whose game continues to evolve as he eyes life at the next level. However, before putting all of his attention to the next chapter, he was trying to close his current chapter with back-to-back state titles. His game has become a lot more versatile on both ends, and he has always been a shot-blocking threat solely due to his athleticism. He has become more instinctual and has better timing, making him a deterrent to potential scorers in the paint. He finished with five blocks but altered numerous shot attempts. He finished with the following stat line: 10pts (4-5 [2-3 3-ptr]), 8rebs, 5blocks
