In this article, we are looking at ballers that I want to see play before the end of the season or right away this spring. I have either watched them once or twice and want to see more, have heard positive reports & I am intrigued, or I have watched them in the past & interested in how they have improved.
See below, PHD will give you two reasons to watch these 11 ballers and ask two questions.
WHY?
-PG for the #1 ranked Vikings with a perfect 19-0 record
-Amazing athlete, dunking in impressive fashion, having a rockstar frosh season
QUESTIONS
Will he be All-State as a 9th-grader? He deserves it in my opinion.
He is already one of the best players in ND, does he have that drive to keep grinding and steadily improve?
WHY?
-Averaging 6.6 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.5 apg, 40.2 FG%. I watched him live last weekend and he certainly belongs on the varsity court. Gibby is a sensational athlete
-It sounds like he is playing AAU with D1 Minnesota, so we will likely not see him much during the AAU season. Hopefully we can catch Kinnebrew and the Patriots a handful of times in the playoffs
QUESTIONS
Will he be a 2/3 next year or more of a 3/4? With Gibby’s athleticism, he can play multiple positions. When you have a kid this talented, you just need to have him on the floor.
He is shooting 32% from 3 with 16 made triples. Will his outside shot continue to improve?
WHY?
-Incredible frosh season, 7 ppg, 4 rpg, 3 apg, 2 spg, impressive 1.7 assist to TO ratio, those numbers do not show his impact on the game properly
-Creates & sees the floor at a different level than most, elite rebounder for his age, defends any position, the game moves SLOW for him, picks up O & D concepts quickly, seems to be on the floor when the game is on the line
QUESTIONS
Will he get the Demons to State and standout on the big stage?
Is he a future PG or more of a 2/3 & will his outside shot keep upgrading?
WHY?
-Playing mainly JV this season, getting spot varsity minutes, is learning to play more physically
-Solid scoring option from all levels, good length, finishes well around the cup
QUESTIONS
Is he done growing, can he score from the block, and how is his foot speed on D?
Will he make the jump this offseason and be ready to be an impact varsity guy as a soph?
WHY?
-I have seen him a few times this winter and I have been impressed with his passing, even though I think of him more as a 3-point sniper
-He has to be one of the top shooters in the ’27 Class, I am excited to see what he does this spring/summer with AAU and what role he plays
QUESTIONS
Is he strictly a PG, is he effective as a 2 or 3 as well?
Will he add on weight and muscle in the offseason?
Highlights
WHY?
-He impressed me this fall at the Expo in Sioux Falls, he certainly is a talented shooter with a good feel for the game
-He is coming to the PH Spring Exposure Session on March 30th in April, I am excited to see Jordan shoot the lights out
QUESTIONS
I know he is major threat from deep, can he slash and score at the rim as well?
How is his defense? If he wants to play for Winczewski, he will have to get it done on that end.
Highlights
WHY?
-I saw him a couple times this past summer & this winter, I am impressed with his unselfishness, cutting, movement w/o the ball, craftiness in the paint, outside shooting, he can impact the game without a ton of shots, reminds me of an efficient player
-He earned a varsity jersey, the Horace coaches must be impressed. I am interested to see what he does in AAU ball this spring
QUESTIONS
Big O looks like he could grow a few more inches, will he lengthen out this offseason?
With the game on the line, does he take the shot or defer to someone else?
Highlights
WHY?
-Has started about half the games for the 14-5 Jaguars, has made 45 triples this year! 2nd most on the team
-Impressed me this past summer and fall with his shooting, a skilled offensive player
QUESTIONS
With Moser graduating, will Hudson play PG next year or more on the wing?
Will he improve his strength & physicality this offseason?
Highlights
WHY?
-He has impressive length, is a talented scorer, and Trueblood can put up points from every level
-Oakley is signed up for the Prep Hoops Spring Exposure Session in Fargo this March, I am excited to see him play live
QUESTIONS
-What kind of mobility & agility does he have compared to others his age?
-Is he one of of the top shooters in this Class? We will find out this spring!
Highlights
WHY?
-Starting for the Bison, have a standout season & averaging 12.2 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 2.2 apg, and 1.6 spg
-I have seen him a couple of times this season & I like his confidence for a 9th grader. He is strong with the ball and can score from every level. I am interested to see how he and Hazen will do in the playoffs
QUESTIONS

& Tristen Barstad
-His shooting range is much improved, Ben is shooting it well from 3-point land & in the paint. Scores 25+ ppg in 3 quarters of JV and 5-6 ppg in varsity with limited looks. Hynek is becoming an efficient scorer
QUESTIONS
He is already a BIG kid, will he keep growing?
How are his ball skills, can he handle it on the perimeter & in the open court?
