The Condors won the Pontiac Holiday tournament over Benet in a double-OT thriller. More importantly, they’re unbeaten against Illinois teams. Carlos Harris Carlos Harris 6'1" | SG Curie | 2024 State #283 Nation IL Jr has quietly become an MVP candidate in the process.
Rising back up the rankings is Metamora. After a slow start, the Redbirds rolled their way to a Jack Tosh tournament championship and are now ranked #2. Tyler Mason Tyler Mason 6'2" | SG Metamora | 2024 State IL came alive and averaged 19 points per game during the week. Iowa commit Cooper Koch Cooper Koch 6'8" | PF Metamora | 2024 State #81 Nation IL also excelled and came through with some clutch plays when needed. Things are looking really good for the defending 3A champs.
Several new teams were added to the rankings. 15-0 Mt. Zion is a team that’s been heavily overlooked this season and were added to the ladder of the list. West Aurora was also added right ahead of Mt. Zion. They have wins over Oswego East, Simeon, Peoria Manual, and Joliet West. Ahead of them is 16-0 Centralia who beat Marist to win their Holiday tournament. They’re ranked in the top 25. Meet Valley rejoins while Neuqua Valley makes their debuts after winning the Wheeling Classic.
