Here's a look at part one of the top guards in the class, ranking #25-#16 of the top point and combo guards in the rankings.

25) [player_tooltip player_id='1948393' first='Demeir' last='Pollard'] | 6'2” CG | Landstown (#94 Overall)

Pollard is having a great senior season leading a Landstown team that looks like they'll make a deep run in the state tournament, and his leadership and production are a big reason why. He's a versatile piece who can play on or off the ball, he makes shots from multiple levels and gets hot quickly and he's willing to do the dirty work which in turn makes everyone else play harder too.

24) Patrick Nguyễn | 6'1” CG | Seton (#92 Overall)

Nguyen has been a rock at Seton starting for them all four years and being one of the best floor generals in the NOVA area over the past few years. He's highly skilled with a tight handle and the ability to change speeds and directions, he's an efficient shooter from deep who can also get downhill and when he touches the paint he can both finish and make plays for others.

23) Kenneth Deguzman | 5'10” PG | Potomac (#77 Overall)

Deguzman is one of the most fun players to watch in the NOVA area, as he has a lot of flair to his game to go along with production at the point guard spot. He's a dual threat who can both score it and make others on the team better, he touches the paint and is a crafty finisher around the rim and he's excellent in pick-and-rolls where he makes great reads.

22) [player_tooltip player_id='2333783' first='Jayden' last='Sepulveda'] | 5'8” PG | Landstown (#67 Overall)

Sepulveda has had a breakout senior season for Landstown, as the 5'8” guard has been the tone setter for them all year and he's been a catalyst for them on both ends of the floor. He handles pressure well and gets his team into their sets, he makes plays for others off the bounce, he's a dead eye shooter from deep and he exudes toughness on the defensive end of the floor.

21) [player_tooltip player_id='1580801' first='Malik' last='Johnson'] | 6'4" CG | Hampton (#55 Overall)

Johnson has had a monster year since transferring back to Hampton, and he's been one of the best guards on the peninsula putting up big numbers throughout the year. He's a big guard who can get downhill and use his frame to finish at the rim, he's a good ball handler who can break down defenders and make plays for others and he's improved his shooting a lot over the last year or so.

20) [player_tooltip player_id='1580730' first='Dezmond' last='Hopkins'] | 6'0” PG | Patriot (#52 Overall)

Hopkins has a great resume over the past three years, but this year he's stepped up as a leader and has Patriot looking like they'll have a chance to make a deep run in the state tournament. He's a quick guard who can get to the rim and is a strong finisher through traffic, he can knock down shots from deep off the bounce, he makes everyone better and he's an excellent defender as well.

19) [player_tooltip player_id='1259543' first='Tavarres' last='Riley'] | 6'1" PG | Westfield (#49 Overall)

Riley is one of the most talented scoring guards in the state, as he puts up big numbers on the regular and can score the rock in many different ways. He has good wiggle off the bounce and knows how to create space to get his shot off, he can get downhill where he has good touch and is a crafty finisher and he can get hot quickly and fill it up in bunches when he gets it going.

18) [player_tooltip player_id='1259672' first='EJ' last='Joyner'] | 5'8” PG | Peninsula Catholic (#48 Overall)

Joyner will head to Hampton to play for his father Buck Joyner, and he's had a big senior season leading a Peninsula Catholic team that could make a deep run in the VISAA D2 this year. He's a throwback style guard who sees everything on the floor and can deliver tough passes on the money, he is shifty off the bounce and can create space and score it in bunches and he's a good on ball defender who sets the tone as well.

17) [player_tooltip player_id='1579097' first='Ke'Juan' last='Richburg'] | 5'7” PG | Fairfax Christian (#47 Overall)

Richburg is leading a Fairfax Christian team that is far and away the favorite to win the VISAA D3 again this year, and the way he's upped his play this year is a big reason why. He's a consummate floor general who handles pressure and sees the floor very well, he can knock down open shots off the catch or off the bounce and he is a one man playmaker who can break down the defense and make others on his team better.

16) [player_tooltip player_id='2333815' first='Ethan' last='Kline'] | 5'9” PG | Virginia Episcopal (#45 Overall)

Kline is a two sport star who leads VES on the court during the basketball season but is a star lacrosse player as well, and he has been as steady as anyone this year leading this group. He is an excellent decision maker with a high IQ and good understanding of the game, he picks his spots and scores it efficiently, he's a gritty defender and he can gets to the line a lot where he's an excellent free throw shooter.
