Hopkins > Wayzata.
The game of the week was Hopkins and Wayzata, and the Royals put together an 11 point upset win. The Royals held Jackson McAndrew Jackson McAndrew 6'10" | PF Wayzata | 2024 State #24 Nation MN to 14 points while Daveion Hart Daveion Hart 6'4" | SG Hopkins | 2025 MN had a breakout 22 points in the win! This is a game that I am definitely going to review later today by looking at the game tape or the clipped 15 minute game video. Will the Trojans remain number one? We will have to do some comparing this weekend!
DeLaSalle > Fridley.
The Islanders look to be back on track. After a rough start the Islanders have won seven of eight and the lone loss was a two score defeat to Tonka. DeVon Irvin of De had a monster 29 point game last night leading De to the 17 point win over Fridley. The game was close in half one but the Islanders controlled half two.
Waconia > Orono.
That Waconia offense packs a powerful punch as they continue to climb the ladder in the Class AAAA top ten. They seem like last year’s Buffalo right now playing great team basketball and scoring with a big punch. Sophomore Will Kirsch Will Kirsch 6'1" | PG Waconia | 2026 State MN put up 32 points leading the Cats to an 87-73 victory.
Totino-Grace > Osseo.
Because Osseo has clipped the Eagles a few times in recent years eyes were on this game but TG got up big on Osseo early and never looked back. Osseo did not have an answer for Isaiah Johnson Isaiah Johnson 6'7" | SF Totino-Grace | 2024 State #135 Nation MN and Dothan Ijadimbola Dothan Ijadimbola 6'6" | SF Totino Grace | 2026 State MN who had 24 points and 22 points respectively with Tyler Wagner Tyler Wagner 6'6" | SF Totino Grace | 2025 State #366 Nation MN scoring 17. Now we ask, is TG number one in the all class power rankings considering Wayzata went down by double figures? Keep in mind Park Center might be one in AAAA and TG beat them. Wayzata beat TG about seven weeks ago on a buzzer beater. We shall see.
Columbia Heights > Richfield
If you are going into a shootout on the basketball court Randy McClendon is a good one to have because he will shoot in bulk and when he’s shooting in bulk there will be strong stretches of makes. Last night he scored 41 points out-dueling the 31 points from CJ Armstrong. Nice win for Heights beating Richfield 102-97.
Park Center > Maple Grove
Pirates won by 18. Only big metro game from Tuesday night that had no box score reported and nothing posted on twitter about the players.
Lakeville North > Eagan
Panthers were up 20 at the half and never looked back. Panthers over Cats 79-45 and it was Andrew Quam Andrew Quam 6'5" | SF Lakeville North | 2024 State MN scoring 26 as he continues to be so tough for teams to figure out. He will score on you in the post or take you out to the arc and dagger you. Best player in recent memory with a last name starting with Q? That’s a thinker.
