The Dream Showcase at Federal Way High School featured 18 teams across both boys and girls divisions on Monday, Martin Luther King Jr Day. I was able to stop in for six of the nine games and see some of the top teams across the 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A. Here are a handful of the most intriguing sophomores I got to see on the day.

[player_tooltip player_id='2375347' first='Lance' last='Horntvedt'] | Richland

Horntvedt had a relatively quiet game but this was the first I'd seen of the 6-foot-6 sophomore and he did a few things that showed promise. He looked pretty good shooting a couple of threes, sinking at least one, and though he's pretty skinny right now he did show some fight rebounding the ball. He started for the 4A contenders and will be a player I circle back to later in the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1685503' first='Landen' last='Northrop'] | Richland

This guy was super impressive against Eastside Catholic and just made play after play, looking like an ultra-confident player. He tapped in from 3-point early in the game, kept slinging them from deep, and ended the game with five triples on his way to a team-high 24 points. He's a bigger guard at 6-foot-4 and showed off an impressive offensive arsenal, even dropping in a couple of dimes in the half court.

[player_tooltip player_id='2375391' first='Balin' last='Meza'] | Seattle Prep

Meza is a pretty quick little guard with good open-court speed. He made the most of his minutes by sinking two corner threes and showing some good effort defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='1863191' first='Niko' last='Christofilis'] | Seattle Prep

Christofilis has a lot of moves to use on the perimeter and shows off good footwork, but he still ended up taking a lot of tough shots on Monday, though many of them went in anyway. He's a pretty creative player when seeking out his shots and though the separation wasn't always there against Davis he was still a highly effective offensive player for the Panthers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1863255' first='Kodi' last='Greene'] | Eastside Catholic

I've gotten to see more of Greene this year and he's been an impressive player each time. He's a big kid but his finesse and IQ in the post sets him apart from just your average bruiser. And while he plays a patient game on the blocks, he's also going to take a quick opening if it's there and he's shown he can feel out defenders quickly and consistently with his back to the hoop. Greene also made some nice reads on passes out of the post and overall has a nice feel for reading the court.
