The Rebels (10-13) snapped a five-game skid with the 70-34 defeat of the young Flames (6-17) and showed some potential signs of sought-after consistency with point differentials of +13, +12 and +9 in the first three quarters before the game began using a running clock late in the third.
“We wanted to push and use our bodies, our athletic ability against theirs, and we were able to do that,” coach Jake Dueitt said. “And I always said this is one of our better offensive teams. We haven’t always defended very well. But we have the ability to score the ball, and we shot the ball really well tonight.”
Torry Beaulieu Jr. — 5-3 G — Family Christian (2029)
Containing the Flames’ seventh-grade guard was as much of a matchup-specific focus for Teurlings Catholic as anything, and Beaulieu showed why he has already started to garner that level of respect from varsity opponents. The lightning-quick point guard with the tight handle and vision navigated a smothering Rebels defense impressively well for his age, keeping the ball moving, finding his teammates in good positions and eventually getting off a team-high 12 points after halftime. Beaulieu also snatched at least half a dozen steals during the contest.
Bradford Cain — 5-10 G — Teurlings Catholic (2024)
The senior guard ran the Rebels’ offense — in both its half-court sets and transition — with the expertise, confidence and consistency of a third-year starter, getting his teammates involved with seven assists and racking up 14 points of his own with a pair of 3-pointers and a few sharp, smooth pull-ups in the lane.
Travis Gallien Travis Gallien 6'2" | SF Teurlings Catholic | 2026 State LA — 6-3 F — Teurlings Catholic (2026)
The sophomore wing with the solid build helped spark the Rebels’ scoring early with a pair of first-quarter 3-pointers en route to game-highs of 16 points and four treys, including catch-and-shoot and step-back makes. Gallien also grabbed three steals and a pair of rebounds.
Skyler Garrison — 6-4 F — Family Christian (2028)
The eighth-grade forward provided the Flames’ biggest interior presence with nine points and six rebounds and also showed some ball-handling ability to help his guards navigate the Teurlings Catholic pressure and add three assists to the offensive efforts.
Vance Meche Vance Meche 6'3" | SG Teurlings Catholic | 2024 State LA — 6-3 F — Teurlings Catholic (2024)
Cain’s senior running mate quickly joined Gallien in the outside shooting efforts with his own pair of first-quarter 3’s and three in the first half on his way to 13 points, along with three rebounds, two steals and an assist.
De’Von Warren — 6-7 F — Teurlings Catholic (2026)
The sophomore was the tallest player on the court and used his height and length to his advantage inside for seven points, 11 rebounds — including several instances helping lead to second-chance points — and a pair of blocked shots and several others he affected and altered.
