With how important the three-point shot is now in a modern offense players tend to shoot more from that distance nowadays. Here are players from the 2025 class who have been sniping standouts from downtown.
Blackley is an efficient shooter from downtown who must be tightly guarded at all times. He has unlimited range which forces defenses to step up the second he passes the half-court line. His smooth and quick release along with always getting his feet set no matter the situation make it tough to get a contest on him. Blackley will look to come off of off-ball screens to get open shots from anywhere on the perimeter.
Highlights
Grospe has been on a scoring tear this season averaging over 30 ppg. His ability to shoot the basketball has opened up this season averaging about 3 threes a game while hitting a total of 37. He is quick with the ball in his hands and always keeps defenders on skates with his handles. Grospe also does an excellent job of getting his shot up over taller players with his fast and high release point.

Schorr is the ultimate sniper from downtown with his ability to get hot in a hurry. He is making about 3 threes a game this season looking to torch defenses that leave him open. Schorr is mainly a spot-up catch-and-shoot shooter and can get his feet set no matter where he is on the court. The corner is where he does most of his damage as it creates space for his teammates to operate in the midrange/painted area because of his shooting ability.

Kreitz has had an excellent season so far shooting the basketball. Kreitz is averaging about 2-3 threes a game and will dominate the catch-and-shoot game. He has deep range and will increase the more he makes throughout a game. He looks to tire out defenders chasing him around as he runs off multiple off-ball screens to get open shots from the perimeter. On the fastbreak, he creates lots of space by running to the corners to create driving lanes for his teammates by spreading the defense out.

Smith is having another fantastic season scoring the basketball averaging over 18 ppg. He has been a threat to score from all over but his ability to shoot from deep is what makes it hard to predict how to guard him. Smith can hit some tough shots from the perimeter looking to take defenders off the dribble to create extra space. He can pull up for three in fastbreak situations with zero hesitation. Smith is averaging about 3-4 three-pointers a game and should continue to keep those impressive numbers coming.
