1. Central Cabarrus (16-0)
Last rank: 1st
The Vikings have won 49 games in a row and counting heading into another week. They’ve won 25 straight home games as they’re 9-0 in the South Piedmont Conference and well on their way to another deep run in the state playoffs. South Rowan and Carson are on the schedule for them this week. They’re ranked the No. 19 team in the nation on Maxpreps as well.
2. Hickory (14-0)
Last rank: 2nd
The Red Tornadoes are another team that remains unbeaten on the 2023-24 season a little over a month left in the regular season. They’re 5-0 in the Western Foothills following a 77-40 victory over Foard on the road this past Friday. Izaiah Littlejohn Izaiah Littlejohn 6'5" | SF Hickory | 2024 State NC and John Holbrook John Holbrook 6'8" | PF Hickory | 2024 State NC continue to pace the attack for them on both ends.
3. Swansboro (11-1)
Last rank: 5th
The Pirates have extended their winning streak to 14 games and counting after a 76-59 victory over West Carteret. Jonah Holt Jonah Holt 6'3" | SG Swansboro | 2025 State NC finish with 29 points and 13 rebounds on 10-of-16 shooting while Tay Tangiora Tay Tangiora 6'6" | PF Swansboro | 2025 State NC had 18 points and seven rebounds and Jermaine Cunningham Jermaine Cunningham 6'3" | CG Swansboro | 2025 State NC had 15 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
4. Southern Guilford (14-1)
Last rank: 4th
The Storm continue to dominate the Mid-State Conference with their fourth win in a row and sixth in league play with a 73-69 victory over Dudley this past Friday. Jyi Dawkins Jyi Dawkins 6'3" | SG Southern Guilford | 2026 State NC led the way with 30 points while Jamias Ferere Jamias Ferere 6'5" | SF Southern Guilford | 2024 State NC had 20 points and 10 assists and Jucquarie Love had 17 points and nine rebounds. They’re a group to keep an eye on out of the NCHSAA 3A West.
5. Westover (11-1)
Last rank: 7th
The Wolverines continue to climb up the NCHSAA 3A Power Rankings as they’re currently riding a 6-game winning streak into the week. They’re 6-0 in the All-American Conference with Ari Fulton Ari Fulton 6'7" | SF Westover | 2024 State NC (NJIT) and Alamare Josey. They’ve shown they can string together consistent play following their road victory over EE Smith this past Friday.
6. South Central (10-1)
Last rank: 3rd
The Falcons to their first loss of the season this past week to Northeastern High as they drop to the sixth spot in the NCHSAA 3A Power Rankings. Troy Loftin Troy Loftin 6'2" | CG South Central | 2024 State NC , Ean Behm Ean Behm 6'4" | SF South Central | 2024 State NC and Michael Bowens Michael Bowens 5'10" | CG South Central | 2024 State NC continue to lead the charge as they’re still in good shape in Big Carolina action with a 3-0 record. They’ll face DH Conley, New Bern and Northside-Jacksonville this week.
7. Ashbrook (13-2)
Last rank: 8th
The Green Wave have won four straight since losing two in a row to North Lincoln and Crest. They’ve got two games coming up this week in league play that should challenge them as they face Huss on the road and South Point on Friday.
8. Southern Durham (9-4)
Last rank: 9th
The Spartans have gone 2-1 since the first edition, including getting a marquee victory over South Granville this past Friday. They’re 4-0 in Northern Lakes Conference action as Jackson Keith Jackson Keith 6'6" | CG Southern Durham | 2025 State #84 Nation NC and Camren Daniels Camren Daniels 6'5" | SG Southern Durham | 2024 State NC are playing strong. They’ve got JF Webb and Vance County on the road this week.
9. Seventy-First (10-1)
The Falcons have won nine games in a row and counting heading into the week as a new entrant in this edition of NCHSAA 3A Power Rankings. Mylon Campbell Mylon Campbell 5'11" | CG Seventy-First | 2024 NC has led the way for them with 16.0 PPG and 3.9 APG as they’re 4-0 in the United 8 Conference. They’ll face Douglas Byrd, Westover and Southview this week.
10. Ben L. Smith (13-2)
Last rank: 6th
The Golden Eagles took their first conference loss to Southern Guilford on Jan. 10 but they’ve won their last two games since then in Mid-State Conference action. They’ll have three games this week which should allow them to sink or swim in the next edition of NCHSAA Power Rankings.
