D1 programs in the region in need of a tough-nosed playmaking scoring, look no further. Cunningham was a strong presence in the Swansboro backcourt in leading them to the NCHSAA 3A Region Finals this season. He’s a strong-framed guard at 6-foot-3 capable of operating with and without the ball in his hands at the guard spot. He produced 17.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.2 steals per game on 50 percent shooting from the field for a 25-2 squad. He’s due to continue to develop as a prospect at the next level with a wide open recruitment.

Although he battled with foul trouble the entire game, his impact on the game and the ability that he has to be an early contributor on the next level was clear. He scored the ball efficiently, showed that he can defend at a high level and is a player that college coaches should be tracking.

One of the top sleeper prospects on the east side of the state, he has plenty of the tools that you love to see from a PG. He plays the game at his own pace, is very unselfish but can score the ball in bunches when needed.

Cunningham is an emerging name to get to know out of Swansboro High as he continues to shine with East Coast All-Stars. He utilizes his size/strength well to operate off the bounce and get to his spots in the painted area. DII programs in the region would be wise to get eyes on him.

A player that has been very productive but never seems to get too high or too low regardless of what may go on, he is one of the reasons why Swansboro has been successful this season. He’s one of those players that just seem to make the right play at the right time, doesn’t force shots or turn the ball over often and always puts the team before himself.
