Thursday was action packed, but on Friday the games heated up even more with the stakes being higher during bracket play. Belter silenced the doubters with a spectacular shooting performance from long range, hitting about 6 or 7 three pointers throughout the duration of the game and helping the Chargers keep a critical lead most of the contest. Alec was also able to use his long wingspan and lateral quickness to get several key stops on the defensive end that led to transition buckets or an open score on offense. This is my 2nd or 3rd time getting to watch Alec in the past few seasons and he has greatly improved his stock every year and continues to be a big time player in this offense. Konjuhi displayed patience and effective decision making while running the offense and always knew where his teammates were on the floor for an easy assist. Konjuhi also was effective using the pick and roll with his big men on the court, using the screen to get shots up over the defense and hit several long range bombs to help his team secure a large lead. Arlind showed he was able to beat his matchup in numerous ways, whether that was pulling up off the dribble and draining the jumper or finishing through contact at the rim. Emelife used his size extremely well to box out opponents for easy rebounds and putbacks, as well as showing a variety of post moves to score the basketball. Despite some early struggles at the free throw line, he found other ways to score as a pick and roll screener and with some mid range jumpers as well. Using his spin moves to his advantage, Emelife constantly found openings around the defense to get to the basket and if he was doubled would just kick out to an open shooter for a good look at the rim. Izu showed high IQ in this game when he had the basketball and would keep moving even without the ball in his hands. Williams showed off extreme quickness and agility, able to beat his opponent to the basket on several plays and hit numerous shots over the defenders from the perimeter and in the mid range. Kylan was a key contributor all game long and when he wasn't beating the defense by scoring, he was racking up steals on the defensive end, playing physical and aggressive defense against his matchup and never afraid to foul if he needed to.
