It is time to recap this week and look at what our exciting prospects did. Here are the player evaluations from a few of the prospects that I saw in Week 7 of the 2023-24 season.
Pike: at Noblesville (1/2)
Howard was the first player that immediately jumped out to me outside of Hall. Really liked how athletic he was on and off the ball and used quickness to attack the basket at will. He is a little bit wild at times on the ball but was also a player that could create his own look and draw contact. He is also known to be a capable three-point shooter as well. Three-and-D long term potential.
Hall was one of the two high-end, long term prospects in the gym on Tuesday and showed flashes of his potential. Always really impressed with his length at the lead guard spot and his ability to create. Thought he facilitated well in this game and showed a strong first step from the wing using his athletic ability to create around the defense. Also is continuing to show an improvement shooting from behind the arc. You can tell he is still working on fine-tuning his overall game, but upside is more than there.
Highlights
One under-the-radar, long term prospects in this game came off the bench for the Red Devils, 6’9 freshman center Isaiah Hill Isaiah Hill 6’9″ | C Pike | 2027 State IN . He is still figuring out at this level, but you can easily tell the physical tools are there to work with. Thought the best thing he did this game was show how good of a rim protector he is already at his age. Hill already has the size, length, and athleticism to play the position. A name to keep an eye on moving forward.
Zionsville vs Brebeuf Jesuit (1/5)
While it took a little bit, Sniveily became a major factor in this game like you thought he would. Was really impressed with his baseline work here and he showed multiple, strong baseline drives where he would finished above the rim more often than not. He is a sneaky athletic player and is very good about taking his defender off the dribble. Did end up fouling out down the stretch, but Zionsville would not have won this game without him.
Man, Maguire Mitchell Maguire Mitchell 6’5″ | SG Zionsville | 2025 State IN gets the MVP of this game. Finished with a game-high 32 points and when things all looked lost for Zionsville, Mitchell was the guy they turned to lead them on the comeback. He shot the ball well from the outside and was using screens to free up looks for him to knock down shots. Was real aggressive on the attacks and got to the line multiple times throughout the stretch, including hitting the game-winning free throws at the end. The junior guards worked his butt off the game and came in so clutch.
The dynamic senior guard was his smooth self this game just like we have seen for multiple years at Prep Hoops Indiana. Used his quickness and great body control to work his way around the defense to score around the rim and thought he was really good about creating on the ball. What I like about Butcher on this Brebeuf Jesuit team is that he plays his silent, killer role so well and while most of the defense will be focused on Haywood, Butcher is there to remind everyone that he is a guy you have to pay attention to. Can score in so many ways while also being a capable defender.
For the majority of this game, Haywood was the most unstoppable player on the floor. In the first half alone, he knocked down 6 threes and was just lighting it up from all over the perimeter, including one of the filthiest cross over, pull threes I’ve seen all season. There was not a whole lot that the Zionsville defense could do to stop his rhythm and his flow to the game is so fun to watch. Butler is getting a stone cold killer off a scorer next season. He finished with 25 points.
Highlights
The senior guard was one of the more physical players in this game. He has a strong frame and used his frame and athletic ability to makes plays on the drive and score through contact. Defended very hard on that end and just felt like he was making all the hustle plays he needed to keep Brebeuf in the game. A good piece to this team as they look to make a 3A state title run.

Luke Reasoner Luke Reasoner 6'5" | PF Zionsville | 2024 IN – 6’6 2024 Forward – Zionsville:
While he won’t blow you away on the box score, I thought the senior forward played such a huge role in this game. He is a scrappy, rugged post player that I felt was the only guy at times for Zionsville that would show a willingness to rebound on both ends of the floor. He was real solid aboutl setting screens and creating space for the shooters while also showing hard rolls to the basket. Had a tough motor throughout the game and made great passes and defended the post very well.
