1.) 2024 Treyton McCain Treyton McCain 6'1" | PG Decorah | 2024 State IA (Decorah) – 8.1 assists per game
The Vikings have to be ecstatic to have McCain back on the floor after missing his entire junior year with an ACL injury. A dynamic playmaker with an electric combination of speed, ball-handling, and court vision, he paces one of the most explosive offenses in the state, and does a great job limiting turnovers, posting a 5.42 assist-to-turnover ratio.
2.) 2025 Cole Miller Cole Miller 5'10" | PG Bondurant-Farrar | 2025 State IA (Bondurant-Farrar) – 7.8
Miller was one of the breakout standouts of the 2023 state tournament, and he has certainly carried that momentum into his junior year for the Bluejays, upping his scoring average to 14.0 points while also serving as the team’s primary playmaker. He’s a tough, quick guard with great vision.
3.) 2025 Cameron Gibson (Chariton) – 7.2
A quick 5-11 guard who averages more assists than points (7.0), Gibson plays alongside one of the most explosive scorers in the state, which certainly helps contribute to his lofty assist numbers. He’s also been good on the defensive end of the floor, averaging 2.6 steals a night for the Chargers.
4.) 2024 Shyne Lo Shyne Lo 6'1" | PG Saydel | 2024 State IA (Saydel) – 6.7
Lo has struggled with his shot so far this season for the Eagles, shooting under 30% from the floor, but he’s finding other ways to contribute, limiting turnovers and getting his teammates involved at a high clip.
5.) 2024 Bo Otto Bo Otto 6'0" | PG Clarke | 2024 State IA (Clarke) – 6.3
A quick guard who uses his speed as a weapon on both ends of the floor, Otto is also averaging 1.8 steals a game for the Indians. Clarke is explosive offensively, and Otto and his constant desire to push the pace, is a major reason why.
6.) 2024 Curtis Witte (Lewis Central) – 6.3
Witte is a true pass-first guard who averages more assists than points (5.0). He has done a really nice job for the Titans at protecting the ball (4.40 assist-to-turnover ratio). He’s also a good defender with a knack for jumping passing lanes to help spark the offense.
7.) 2024 Jack Cooley Jack Cooley 6'5" | PF Clarke | 2024 State IA (Clarke) – 5.8
Cooley is one of the best in the state at stuffing the stat sheet, averaging 20.1 points, 12.1 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 2.3 steals, and 1.0 blocks a game. At 6-5 and with length and athleticism to burn, he’s a difficult matchup, and his size allows him to see the entire floor.
8.) 2024 Tyler Hinz Tyler Hinz 5'10" | PG Maquoketa | 2024 State IA (Maquoketa) – 5.7
Hinz suffered a terrifying injury early this season, but is back in the lineup for the Cardinals now, which is great news for one of the highest scoring teams in the state. He’s a great athlete who uses his speed to his advantage on both ends of the floor. He’s averaging 19.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.7 steals a game on 44-43-56 shooting splits in addition to his playmaking.
9.) 2024 Haiden Hardy Haiden Hardy 6'2" | SG Clear Creek Amana | 2024 State IA (Clear Creek Amana) – 5.5
Hardy is a talented guard with good handles, footwork, and court vision. He’s averaging 13.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.6 steals a game for the Clippers.
10.) 2026 Trevor Theobald Trevor Theobald 6'0" | PG Clear Lake | 2026 IA (Clear Lake) – 5.3
Theobald is an exciting young player who came off the bench for the Lions to provide a real spark on both ends of the floor. He’s a 6-0 guard with great handles and court vision, and he plays more like a senior than a sophomore, limiting turnovers, getting to the rim, and getting his teammates involved at a high clip. He’s averaging 6.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and has posted a 3.08 assist-to-turnover ratio so far this season.
