Leader in Blocks: Daniel Feist, Hope - 1

This game was close from the beginning, with Hope coming out to a hot start in the first half. Atrisco slowly but surely made their run in the 3rd, and held on to hold off the fourth quarter efforts of the Huskies. [player_tooltip player_id='1176301' first='Latavious' last='Morris'] turned it on with 19 points in the second half, including his 1000th career point as a high school player. [player_tooltip player_id='1225905' first='Marquise' last='Renfro'] was an enormous source of energy for the Jaguars, as he continually brought intensity of the defensive end and turned it into instant offense in clutch moments.

[player_tooltip player_id='1897896' first='Noah' last='Perry'] looked like perhaps the most fundamentally sound point guard in the state, with his incredible pace and patience not only giving Hope the lead early on, but leading to a comeback in the fourth quarter. He finished with 14 points and 5 assists. Ian Koenigsberg was automatic from beyond the arc, knocking down 5 threes, and [player_tooltip player_id='2022314' first='Xavier' last='Otero'] came through in crunch time, knocking down key shots to keep the Huskies in it, and finishing with a team-high 17 points.

This game was neck-and-neck going into halftime. Cibola collapsed in the third quarter however, and continued their struggles into the fourth, with a deficit as large as 20 at one point. West Mesa showed their strongpoints in their rebounding and second-chance opportunities. [player_tooltip player_id='1124238' first='Elijah' last='Brody'] loaded up the statsheet with a fantastic offensive showcase. He was on fire from all three levels, and showed a lesser-seen aspect of his game with his off-the-dribble three point ability. [player_tooltip player_id='1679995' first='Jeremiah' last='Holtz'] was the perfect second option, putting in 21 points and 4 rebounds, carving up the defense to get to his mid-range jumper.

[player_tooltip player_id='2026077' first='Elijah' last='Martinez'] started the game white-hot, scoring all of his team-high 14 points in the first half. [player_tooltip player_id='2147586' first='Brayden' last='Peters'] was a large part of Cibola's early success, hitting two catch-and-shoot three pointers and grabbing 5 rebounds to lead the team. [player_tooltip player_id='2318841' first='Noah' last='Crichlow'] was a menace on the defensive end towards the end of the game, scoring 9 points in two minutes to bring the Cougars within 11 at the final buzzer. [player_tooltip player_id='2026079' first='Jalil' last='Dixon'] was a spark plug off the bench in the second quarter, providing instant offense and aggression that was desperately needed for the Cougars' run.
