Boulder Creek at Basha: JV Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Wednesday January 3rd I attended the 6A matchup of the <strong>Boulder Creek Jaguars </strong>traveling to Chandler to take on the <strong>Basha Bears</strong>. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Before the varsity tipped off I checked out the junior varsity game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Basha Bears JV won 77-73.</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here were the JV Standouts:</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2313543' first='Jordan' last='Guliford'] Basha</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A fast and quick point guard with good defense and a big motor. He can hit the catch three with a quick release and is very fast to get to the rim. He has a nice combination of a burst and changing speeds. He can dribble thru the defense with his tight handle and he will drive and kick it to a teammate.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1754265' first='Kaleb' last='Seow'] Basha</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A highly skilled combo guard plays on the ball often but is a top notch catch three point shooter. He hit at least five triples on the night and can crossover into a mid-range pull-up. He also has a nice floater game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2313544' first='Boston' last='Cloward'] Basha</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A long and lean combo guard is a knockdown shooter off the catch. He makes smart reads to teammates but this guard loves to let it fly from beyond the arc. He has a clean release and looks good every attempt.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1679272' first='Jack' last='Raslavsky'] Basha</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A long and tall post player moves well in space on defense. He can rebound and wall up and talks all game on defense. He will score on hook shots and put backs off the glass.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1754263' first='Christian' last='Hernandez'] Basha</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A cerebral point guard who can really pass. He will hesitate and then dime his teammates in stride. He can post up and be physical in the paint to rebound. He seems almost automatic on the free throw line.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1754233' first='Rowen' last='Pina'] Basha (At the FT line)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A good sized wing forward handles it well for size and plays some 3-4 for the Bears. He can shoot the three at a high clip for his size, he rebounds well and has a polished runner.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1680842' first='Noah' last='Van Fredenberg'] Boulder Creek</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A skilled scoring guard can rattle in threes off the catch. He can score in the lane with real body control with either hand. He can spin off of his defender and fall away to score. He is a sneaky good passer with some feel for the game.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1680984' first='Kaleb' last='Conley'] Boulder Creek</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A long and skinny wing who can score. He can hit the catch three and score on runners. He also scores on driving layups and in transition. He is quick in the passing lanes.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2313545' first='Jude' last='Koch'] Boulder Creek</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A highly skilled scoring guard can make threes off the catch or step into one off the dribble. He can ball fake and then blow by to score layups with either hand and he is a quick second jumper. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
