Just having fun
The connection between Cordova’s big three (Emerson Tenner, Jay Tyler, and Julius Thedford) is undeniably a perfect trio, mainly because all three are unselfish.
On any given night, one or two or three can have a special performance.
After the Wolfpack’s 76-50 thumping at home against a physical Fayette Ware team, Thedford was all smiles as Cordova is off to an 8-0 start.
”It’s been a great experience because, you know, me and KJ (Tenner) have been playing together since we were young. Add Jaylyn Tyler Jaylyn Tyler 6'0" | CG Cordova | 2024 State TN to it, it’s just fun playing with those guys,” said Thedford, who had 21 points in the win over the Wildcats. “We have guys that are going to play their role. First of all, we have no egos. We are all happy to see each other succeed.
”We just want to keep winning, keep winning, keep winning.”
In Thursday night’s matchup, Thedford scored nine points in the top half of the second quarter that helped Cordova build a 30-15 lead. The Missouri State commit also converted on two 3-point plays in the third quarter.
Tyler scored seven of his 10 points in the fourth quarter as a victory was pretty much in reach.
Tenner scored 10 of his team-high 25 points in the fourth quarter, including knocking down two 3s from deep to ignite the home crowd, something Tenner has done throughout the entirety of his high school basketball career.
