The Big Interview: Knox Webb Senior Drake Ingram

I have taken a couple of naps [here and there].</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Did you eat at any nice restaurants on this trip to the Memphis area?</strong><br>No, we ate at fast food.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>How did AAU go, you were with Pro One, right?</strong><br>Pro One-Brewster. It went well. We grew a lot. We played with each other for two years so we had good chemistry together.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>What cities did you go to?</strong><br>North Carolina. Lakepoint. Just around the eastern states. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Did any colleges reach out to you this summer?</strong><br>Yeah. I got an offer from Maryville College and Bryan College. Trevecca has been talking to me a lot. That is about it. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Trevecca. Which coach?</strong><br>[player_tooltip player_id='2841493' first='Luke' last='Smith']. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Did you know him before he got there?</strong><br>No. He coached at Knox Catholic. He talked to me when he got that job [at Trevecca] and we have been talking. I went to visit there in October. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>What did you think?</strong><br>I liked it a lot. I like Nashville too. The location is great. I like the feel of their campus too.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>I told Coach [Kevin] Carroll when he took that job that Trevecca is a sleeping giant. They just have such a prime spot near downtown Nashville where they can recruit a lot of players. </strong><br>They are the only D2 in Nashville. They are surrounded by D1's.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Did you do any camps this past summer?</strong><br>Yes. I think we are 7-3 right now. We played a team out of Arkansas yesterday. It was a close loss. I just think...we are young, but I think when region comes around, we are going to be pretty dangerous.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Who is the common starting 5? </strong><br>It is me, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1299479' first='Jaylen' last='Pompey']</strong> (2025), <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1277259' first='Cam' last='Swearengen']</strong>, Alex Leeth, [player_tooltip player_id='1642603' first='Owen' last='Lentz']. Our sixth man is a freshman (<strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1277258' first='Tahj' last='Bowers']</strong>). Tahj played with BMaze.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>You are young [as a team]. Owen, Luke, Cam, Jaylen, those are all sophomores?</strong><br>Jaylen is a junior. After Jaylen and I everybody else is a sophomore [in the starting 5]. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>What are you expecting for your team this year?</strong><br>I mean, I honestly think by the time we get to region play, man, I think we will be tough to defend. I think we are really lengthy and our defense is very strong. I think we can compete for a state championship. We just got to let the bad things wash out of our brains fast.
