Albrecht has been known as a knockdown catch-and-shoot threat for some time now. This season however, he’s expanded his arsenal to creating off the dribble, and even getting to the basket as defenders respect his jump-shot more and more. Albrecht’s role has expanded this season with the absence of several key seniors from last season, and has become quite possibly the best second option in the state for Cleveland. He’s a large part of their success, and creates something from nothing in many occasions for the Storm, something that will serve him well moving forward.
Braylon Vega Braylon Vega 6'2" | SG Hobbs | 2026 State NM – Hobbs (#3 Overall)
Vega is one of the purest knockdown shooters in the state regardless of class. He’s able to get to his spots at will, and earned All-District honors last season primarily on the basis of his shooting abilities. He’s able to play any position 1-4, and thrives in his role as a perimeter scorer within the flow of the Eagles’ offense. Alongside point guard Abraham Pena Abraham Pena 5'9" | PG Hobbs | 2025 State NM , they compliment each other extremely well, able to challenge defenses from anywhere on the court. Vega has been able to use his length on both sides of the ball as well, making him a two-way threat for Hobbs.
Kenneth Zamora Kenneth Zamora 5'9" | CG St. Pius X. | 2026 State NM – St Pius X (#4 Overall)
Zamora was ineligible last season for varsity play, but he has bursted onto the scene as a spark plug off the bench for the Sartans. Zamora is a streaky shooter who has more ups than downs, and creates for himself with ease. At the point guard position he is one of the best 3-point shot creators in the state regardless of class. Not only is he lethal off-the-dribble, but playing off-ball he can find open spots for his teammates to find him. Zamora is one of the quickest players with the ball in his hands as well, and will continue to expand his game to earn his spot in the starting lineup.
Lavodrick Hogues Lavodrick Hogues 5'11" | CG Sandia | 2026 State NM – Sandia (#7 Overall)
Hogues fits in perfectly with this Matadors team. Earning his way into the starting lineup after the team losing 4 senior starters, Hogues has done more than enough to solidify himself as a key rotational player, and as a momentum starter from beyond the arc. His range knows no limits and he has a quick release that gives him more opportunities to score. Hogues also plays great within any offense, and has a high IQ with the ball in his hands. With Sandia facing an extremely tough schedule and still finding success, Hogues will continue to grow as a player and as a prospect.
Chris Lucero Chris Lucero 6'1" | SG Rio Rancho | 2026 State NM – Rio Rancho (#14 Overall)
Lucero has taken over a much larger role with this Rams team since last season and has flourished as one of the primary ball-handlers and scorers on this team. Within the Rams offense he has been able to find shots for himself from beyond the arc, and has cashed in on his opportunities. His two-way skillset allows him create not only on the offensive end, but on the defensive end, getting steals to kickstart fast breaks and get his jump-shot off in transition. He’s contributed to a lot of the Rams’ recent success, and will continue to do so as such a young prospect.
