A prolific shotmaker along the perimeter, Licon has remained impressively efficient on attempts behind the arc despite such a large volume. Putting up 30.1 points per game while knocking down 39 of his 85 three point attempts. He leads his grad class within 4A in both points and made threes, already at 16 three point attempts ahead of second place within the class. His low center of gravity and positional strength allow him to capitalize on drives, often following a pump fake out behind the arc. His strength makes him a formidable opponent defending drives at the 4A level, strong enough to maintain his positioning at the point of attack. Licon’s active hands on help side have helped disrupt opponents, certainly not just a one-dimensional player.

An effective playmaker out of the pick and roll, Brown is composed under tight pressure at the point of attack. Utilizing his consistent handle to keep his eyes up for the next play, the guard has been excellent directing traffic and setting up teammates in opportune situations. His acute awareness goes onto the defensive side, constantly surveying the floor for backdoor cuts to deflect a pass. Brown has been an efficient shooter beyond the arc, comfortable versus an incoming closeout, contributing towards his 19.7 points per game.

The shooting guard has been particularly efficient inside the arc, active drawing fouls and grabbing offensive rebounds. Active flowing from off-ball actions, Covington does an excellent job catching the ball with prior momentum to attack downhill, getting to the rim while the defense remains out of position. Either following a shot from himself or teammate, count on Covington to crash the glass for a putback attempt. His height advantage has allowed him to rise up above opponents in the mid-range, effective readjusting quickly and squaring up his shoulders for quick jumpers.

Hernandez has been imperative to Highland’s halfcourt flow, active making the extra pass to get a shooter open. Constantly seeking driving lanes, the guard does well reading the halfcourt to pick his spots and draw in the defense. His quick instincts have landed him at the top of assists per game among 4A 2025s.

Adept at setting the tone, Fresquez brings unlimited energy to Los Alamos’ fast paced offense. Active pushing the break following a defensive rebound, the guard brings a high volume of shot attempts around the rim. Providing great spacial awareness with the ball, Fresquez is adept taking advantage of openings for mid-range shot attempts, transition or within a slower pace.

Impactful reading the floor on either end, Pacheco has been active setting up his teammates for easy looks. Proactive driving into the paint, the guard is particularly active creating passing lanes once help side approaches or a backdoor cutter dives to the rim. Defensively, he has shown immense value on the help, either swatting away shot attempts at the rim or intercepting a pass. Pacheco’s two-way presence will be imperative to Moriarty’s success through this season.
