Aekins had a sort of quiet game to his standards but still made an impact. Walnut Ridge had multiple times to bring the game close and Aekins was the one apart of that. He played hard the entire game even though his shot was not falling much. He is an ultra-quick point guard who can go wherever he wants because you won’t be able to stay in front of him. He made a ton of little effort plays for the Scots. Proving his leadership on a very young Walnut Ridge team.
Wells is a freak athlete. He started the game against Akron STVM with a monstrous two-handed dunk off an alley-oop. He simply can outjump anyone in the gym and for his size and length that is dangerous. He is a presence on the defensive end in the paint. He is a next-level shot blocker with an insane block radius. He had multiple great finishes for the Tigers as well which led him to being their leading scorer with 15 points. He had a dagger finish in transition to seal Pickerington Central’s win.

Bruce was the spark that got Lutheran East going in their tough-fought battle against Walnut Ridge. He plays with a ton of energy and a competitive chip on his shoulder. He got to the rim often as well. He knows when to and not to attack the rim. He shows good leadership qualities you want your point guard to have. He is also sneaky long which makes him a good on-ball defender.
Foster was essential for the Scots on Saturday due to his shooting ability. His ability to shoot the ball made the defense stretch out and gave his teammates lane to attack. Anytime the defense helped off of him they made him pay. He has a high arching shot that comes off his hands quickly. He did a great job of communicating all game long. He is an athletic and long wing who wasn’t scared of the moment at all. I really am a big fan of Foster.

The first thing that sticks out with Washington’s game is his high motor. He plays his tail off the entire game and doesn’t stop moving. He caused multiple turnovers and made sure Gahanna’s offense did not run smoothly. He does this with his length and speed. He was the best player for his team on Saturday. He made a ton of shots inside the paint late to give South a chance. He did all the dirty work and little things right. You know what you are getting with Washington.
